Elden Ring is an action role-playing game combining a rich story and an open world. You can explore any place you see on the horizon, but be prepared to face formidable challenges along the way. The game features many powerful enemies and bosses that can kill you with a few strikes, so you need to master the combat system and use your skills wisely. One of the bosses you will encounter is Maliketh, a fearsome foe that requires a good strategy to defeat. In this guide, I will show you how to beat Maliketh and what you should do before the fight.
How to Beat the Boss Maliketh in Elden Ring
Maliketh is a fierce boss and will be available to players when are almost at the end of the story of Elden Ring. Players before fighting should do these things:
- Players should be at level 130-140 (150 is possible so try that)
- Players should max their weapons (try to level Melee weapon)
- Players should complete all the side stories of Leyndell as they will turn into ashes after the Maliketh fight.
- Players should try to make some potions as well.
Now that you have done all the above things, let us talk about Maliketh. Players can reach the Maliketh by going through the Erdtree (After Burning it) and reaching the Crumbling Farum Azula.
Maliketh is an aggressive boss and will always tries to close the distance between the player and himself so using a range weapon is almost useless. Maliketh also has 2 forms and it changes to the second form after it HP bar reaches 50%.
First Form- Maliketh’s Beast Clergyman
This will be the starting form of Maliketh and players will need to be careful about the swift attacks but it absorbs too many hits as well. Players need to be careful about various attacks as barrel rolling doesn’t make you dodge all attacks. Some of the attacks require players to simply run away from him. What is different about Maliketh is that his steam bar is full from the start and it won’t wait for your attacks.
One of the things about this form’s attack is that they will take some time to execute so players have some time to dodge. Players also need to watch the floor as well as the area’s floor being crushed by Maliketh and have rocks which will hurt them. Simply dodge the attacks by rolling or running away and striking after his attack or when is preparing to attack.
Second Form- Maliketh the Black Blade
This form starts when the players reduce the boss hp to 50%. In this form, Maliketh is even faster and can now even leap from one part of the arena to another in a flash. In this form, Maliketh also has a Dark magic projectile surrounding him and if players make contact with it, their HP will decrease slowly (like a radiation or burning effect).
Players need to make sure that they use the healing potions in this form as the HP can go down in instances if not kept in check. One of the new attacks Maliketh will do in this form is that he will jump on the Arena pillars and launches projectiles. Players need to dodge these and keep a distance from Maliketh. After dodging and seeing the Maliketh attack it will give you some chance to strike before or after his attacks.
It is recommended to use an Ash Spirit or a Blasphemous Claw during your first play-through of the game. They will help you clear a little faster with an Ash spirit and also the claw will show the strike of the bosses before it happens.
