In 2023, we already have got a lot of renowned titles, and of course, more will come. However, the latest fishing horror adventure game, Dredge, has earned massive popularity among players, and like every other game, players have been curious about the ending of Dredge and whether it has an alternative ending. So, this guide will help you know whether Dredge has Good or Bad endings and how to get Them.
Does Dredge has Good and Bad Endings? Answered
If you are a video game lover, it won’t be surprising for you to know that Dredge has two endings- a good ending and a bad ending. Most adventure games have an alternative ending present based on their choice of way. Similarly, Dredge also has a good and a bad ending, and if you are curious about how to get them, below we have discussed them in detail-
The Good Ending
To get the Good ending, collect all the relics, but instead of going out with the Collector, visit the Mayor. He will be found near a campfire located somewhere in the mangrove. Players need to find the location and interact with him. He informs you about The Collector’s Book and sends you to the Lighthouse Keeper. So, next, your destination will be the Lightkeeper’s location. You’ll find her in the Greater Marrow. Ask her about the books, and she will tell you a story.
Go to the Collector and ask for the books. He will not be ready to give you them, but when you punch him and his face reveals, shockingly, you will find you and The Collector are the same. Once you get the books, return to the Lighthousekeeper, and she will suggest you to throws the books into the sea. She will show you the location where to throw the books. Reach the location and throw the books. As soon as you do that, players will see a monster eating the boat, and the protagonist and The Collector will die.
Now, you may ask, what’s good in this ending? Well, it is can be considered as a good ending because the Old God will still be locked, and Greater Marrow survives. The Collector, throughout the game, acts as the Old God wants him to do. He’s giving you powers so that through your help, he can be freed. But the moment you throw away the books, he understands that he lost control over you, and you become useless to him. So, with the monster fish killing you, the Old God also remained locked.
The Bad Ending
In this ending also, players need to collect the Relics and get back to The Collector. The Collector will tell you to wait until the middle of the night to set out on a journey. You have to sail until you reach the red section in the sea, and The Collector will throw the Relics into the sea once you reach the point. As soon as the Relics are thrown into the sea, you’ll see a woman coming out of the water. Also, a Monster will rise from the sea, and your game ends here with the information that the Greater Marrow is destroyed by the Monster.
Though the Good ending also kills The Collector and the Protagonist, it won’t set free the Monster. If you have picked up the bottles and read the messages, you got the story of a couple who started their journey on the boat and eventually got mad. He threw all the items into the sea, and finally, he threw his wife too. So, the items again thrown into the water will raise both the wife and the Old God, who’s using The Collector to make his way of becoming free. In this sense, it is a bad ending that you can’t prevent the Old God from destroying Greater Marrow.
That’s all you need to know about the endings in Dredge. However, these endings contain spoilers and destroy the thrill of the game. So, be careful while reading this guide.
