Gathering and refining are crucial undertakings in ArcheAge Chronicles, but you must have the right tools and materials to begin. While some gathering tools can be found in the early stages of the game, others require further advancement. This article will provide you with information about how to find all four tools and how to refine materials.
Where To Find All Gathering Tools
ArcheAge Chronicles utilize four tools for gathering: the Hunting Knife, Logging Axe, Harvesting Sickle, and Pickaxe. The first two can be found at early-game camps by the Watchtower of Hope. One can get the Hunting Knife in the first quest camp and the Logging Axe can be found near tents. The Wayfaring Camp offers the Harvesting Sickle and another Hunting Knife from the ground.
The pickaxe will become available after clearing the Pirate Hideout and accessing the Seaglass Harbor. To buy all four gathering tools, go to the General Merchant found just right from the Nui statue in the center of the town. But note that these common ones are not very sturdy and wear out quickly so there may be a need to purchase them several times.
As for the better picks, you can find ones with better and more durable characteristics in the open world. Thus, pickaxes with more durability can be obtained from the Orc Encampment and War Memorial Site. The quest designated from an NPC associating with the Expert’s Logging Axe is available in Watcher Village.
Also, you can manufacture green Expert versions of all four devices pressing O, going to Engineering, and accessing the Tools section for crafting. These have significantly better durability.
How To Refine Materials
In Seaglass Harbor, all the workbenches used for refinement and craft are found. Refinement stations can be found on the right side of the city, whereas craft stations can be found on the left side of the city. Open the map and zoom in to find the workstations.
You will also need Sweetgrass Powder for several refinement recipes. This powder is sold at the General Merchant near the Nui Statue. To find out the materials required for certain recipes, press O to access the menu for crafting and refining menu.
Different recipes require various resources, including Rags and Shattered Blades dropped by monsters. For example, crafting a blue glider requires 18 Green Standard Lumber and nine Additives. Each lumber requires three Logs, five Sweetgrass Powder, and five Rags, while each Additive requires three Wild Petals, five Sweetgrass Powder, and five Rags.
Once you have collected the required materials, visit the appropriate workbench and select the item you want to produce. You can refine individual items or process larger batches at once.
