Hero’s Courage is a useful upgradeable item in Phantom Blade Zero which gives your Swordsman summon a more powerful version. It upgrades your summons of Swordsman Captain and Swordsman Disciplines to new versions while retaining all of your upgradeable items. This particular item is not easy to find, as you have to go to some hidden locations and kill some enemies. Here’s where you can find Hero’s Courage and how to get it.
How to Get Hero’s Courage
Hero’s Courage is a Soul Temper item that buffs up your Swordsman summons. After using the item, you will replace the Swordsman Captain with a Purple-Robed Windblade Swordsman and the two Swordsman Disciplines with Patient Sword Guardians. All your Swordsmen will get your buffs from now on.
You need to visit the Myst in Pangzhen’s underground tavern to use the Soul Temper. It will cost 5,000 Remnant Dust to upgrade it to the Master Swordsmen, and you need to have the Hero’s Courage base to unlock this feature.
To locate Hero’s Courage, make your way to the West Mass Grave in the Main Encampment zone. After you find the bell nearby, find a spot to jump down into the location below. You will see the item there among the other things. You will have to kill the enemies protecting the item to be able to collect it.
You may see a couple more items there, but the purple one is not what you need. Clear out the enemies in the area, then interact with the object that appears after defeating the required enemy. This will reward you with Hero’s Courage, the Soul Temper item for your Swordsman summons.
