In NBA 2K27 Build Specializations offer additional ways to upgrade your MyPLAYER, however, doing all the assignments requires much effort. Every Specialization is dedicated to one aspect of the game, such as shooting, playmaking, scoring, defending, or rebounding. Luckily, there are methods to ease the process of grinding through game modes and easy-to-use tactics. How to Unlock All Build Specialisations
Build Specialisations are another important aspect of NBA 2K27. Grinding them requires a fair amount of effort, but there are definitely some effective tips that can help you grind faster. No matter whether you’re grinding Shooting, Playmaking, Finishing, Defence, or Rebounding build, there are certain game modes and tips that will make the process much more efficient.
First of all, always keep in mind that you don’t necessarily have to grind all the goals in the same game mode. Apply Street Kings for easy stat farming against the AI, Twos/Threes for fast online games and MyCAREER when the AI makes a particular goal easier.
For the longest goals, try not to do everything at once. Instead, focus on fulfilling one requirement first and then move on to the next one. After you finish your Specialisations, you’ll unlock extra progression and bonuses that will make your build more powerful.
Shooting Specialization
Shooting is probably one of the easiest Specialisations to complete, although some of the later goals can still take a while.
Goal 1: Win 25 Games
Street Kings would be an easy place to achieve this objective. The games played against the AI have scores up to 21, making them easy to complete. The Twos venue is also a good one, especially for those who play online.
Goal 2: Make 200 Mid-Range Shots
This is achievable in any of the three modes, including Street Kings, MyCAREER in Rookie and Twos. One way that can make your life much easier is by asking for a screen by pressing LB/L1. After the screen, run to the side and then fade into a mid-range shot. Another technique is posting yourself far from the basket and asking for the ball from the opponent. The AI will always allow you enough room for an open mid-range shot.
Goal 3: Make Three-Pointers
For this objective, the better option would be Street Kings or MyCareer. The process can become slow if you decide to play it online. Call a screen at the top of the key, set yourself up using the screen, set your feet, and shoot the three. The AI usually won’t defend the shot aggressively, making this much easier than trying to do it against other players.
Goal 4: Win 50 Games With 4+ Jump Shots Made
For this task, you may use the games Twos and Street Kings. In the first place, your goal is to hit the target of four jump shots as soon as you can. After doing that, you should just win the game as quickly as possible without any need for collecting additional statistics.
Goal 5: Make Corner Threes
The best choice in this case would be Street Kings. Ask for a screen and drive towards the corner. You either fade out in the corner, or do some dribble moves to make the AI move under the screen. If you get the opening shot, take the three and keep doing that.
Goal 6: Win 75 Games With an A- or Better Teammate Grade
Once again, it is recommended that you choose either Twos or Street Kings since both games are fast-paced. If you are a decent shooter, then you will be able to accomplish this in a natural way during the scoring process.
Goal 7: More Mid-Range Shots
The same method should be used here, as well. Play the Street Kings game mode, MyCAREER as a rookie, or the Twos game mode. Request your teammates to screen you so that you can have space to shoot fading mid-range shots.
Goal 8: More Three-Pointers
This is basically an extended version of Goal 3. MyCAREER is probably the easiest option. Call for a screen near the top of the key, run around it, get open, set your feet, and shoot. Since you’re trying to get as many shots as possible, you don’t have to rush to finish the game.
Goal 9
For this goal, Street Kings or MyCAREER is recommended. Avoid doing it online unless you’re very comfortable playing against other players. The AI is much easier to manipulate, which makes the grind less frustrating.
Goal 10
For the final Shooting goal, simply use whichever game mode you’re best at. This one will take some time, so don’t overcomplicate it. Pick your most comfortable mode and keep grinding until you finish the Specialization.
Playmaking Specialization
Playmaking is mostly about getting assists, so your main focus should be creating easy scoring opportunities for your teammates.
Goal 1: Win Games
Use Street Kings or Twos to finish games as quickly as possible. There’s no reason to play longer games when your only requirement is getting wins.
Goal 2: Get Pick-and-Roll Assists
You can do this in almost any game mode. Call for a pick-and-roll and keep looking for the pass to your teammate. The goal is simply to get as many assists as possible. Play in whichever mode you’re most comfortable with.
Goal 3: Get Alley-Oop Assists
There are two good options. In Street Kings, try to get a teammate who can dunk. Alternatively, use MyCAREER and play for a team with good dunkers. Call for the screen, wait for your teammate to cut toward the basket, and throw the lob. Once you get used to the timing, you can rack these up fairly quickly.
Goal 4
For this goal, continue using your preferred game mode and focus on creating easy scoring opportunities for teammates. The main idea is to keep generating assists rather than worrying about scoring yourself.
Goal 5: Flashy Assists
This works similarly to the regular-assist method. Instead of making a normal pass, use the flashy pass controls to get flashy assists. You can do this in almost any game mode, although your teammates may struggle with some of the passes if you’re playing online.
Goal 6: Win Games Quickly
Don’t worry about stats here. Just focus on finishing games as quickly as possible. Street Kings and Twos are good choices because the games don’t take very long.
Goal 7: More Assists
Use your favourite game mode and repeatedly run pick-and-rolls. Try to create as many open shots for your teammates as possible. You don’t need to focus heavily on scoring yourself.
Goal 8: More Alley-Oop Assists
Go back to the same method from Goal 3. Use Street Kings with a good dunking teammate or play MyCAREER with teammates who can finish above the rim. Keep calling screens and throwing lobs whenever your teammate cuts toward the basket.
Goal 9: Get 5 Assists and Finish the Game
If you’re a good online player, Twos or Threes can be very fast. Get your five assists as early as possible and then focus on winning the game. If online games aren’t your thing, use Street Kings, get your five assists, and then finish the game quickly.
Goal 10
This one will naturally take some time. Pick whichever game mode you enjoy most and keep getting assists. There’s no need to force every single assist because you’ll naturally accumulate them while playing.
Finishing Specialization
Finishing can be a little more tedious, especially when you reach the alley-oop goals.
Goal 1: Win Games
Use Street Kings or Twos. If you’re good at playing online, Twos can be one of the fastest ways to finish games.
Goal 2: Make Layups
Use Street Kings. Call for a screen and drive toward the basket. When you’re close to the rim, let go of RT/R2 so your player goes for a layup instead of a dunk. This is important because you don’t want to accidentally turn your layup attempts into dunks.
Goal 3: Make Dunks
This time, do the opposite. Use the same screen-and-drive strategy, but hold RT/R2 when attacking the basket. This will help trigger dunks instead of layups.
Goal 4: Win Games With 4 Dunks
Twos or Street Kings are good choices. Try to get four dunks during the first few possessions. Once you’ve completed the requirement, focus on finishing the game quickly.
Goal 5: Get 250 Alley-Oop Finishes
This is one of the more annoying Finishing goals. It’s much easier with a teammate who is willing to throw you lobs, so Twos or Threes are recommended. Don’t try to force every single alley-oop. Let your teammate know that you’re working on this goal and ask them to throw lobs whenever you cut. It will take time, but you’ll eventually get there.
Goal 6: Play 75 Games
This is one of the easiest goals. Simply play 75 Twos or Street Kings games and finish them as quickly as possible.
Goal 7: More Layups
Go back to the Street Kings method. Call for a screen, drive toward the basket, and make sure you’re not holding RT/R2 so you get a layup.
Goal 8: More Dunks
Use the same Street Kings method, but hold RT/R2 when attacking the basket. Keep doing this until you complete the required number of dunks.
Goal 9: More Dunks and Game Wins
Use Twos or Street Kings. Try to get your dunks early in the game, then focus on finishing the game as quickly as possible.
Goal 10
The final goal combines your finishing attempts, so you’ll need both layups and dunks. At this point, simply play normally and let the progress build naturally. You can still farm Street Kings if you want to finish it faster.
Defensive Specialization
Defense is one of the more time-consuming Specializations because several goals require specific defensive stats.
Goal 1: Win Games
Use Twos or Street Kings and finish the games as quickly as possible.
Goal 2: Get Good Shot Contests
There are two useful methods. In MyCAREER, stand around the free-throw line and bait the AI into taking shots. When they shoot, jump or lunge forward to register a contest.
You can also do something similar in Street Kings by giving the AI some space and then closing out when they shoot. Another option is playing online and baiting real players into taking bad shots. Human players often make more mistakes than the AI, so this can sometimes be faster.
Goal 3: Get Steals
The Rec Center or another online game mode is a good option. Press the ball aggressively, look for opportunities to blitz the ball handler, and try to jump passing lanes. Fast breaks are especially useful because players often throw risky passes that can be intercepted.
Goal 4: 50 Games With 3+ Blocks or Steals
For this one, Street Kings is a good farming method. Get three combined blocks or steals, then finish the game. One simple strategy is to get a block or steal and then throw the ball down the court. Repeat the process until you’ve reached three defensive plays.
Goal 5: More Shot Contests
Use the same method from Goal 2. You don’t necessarily have to force a full defensive stop. The important thing is getting the game to register a good shot contest. You can farm these against the AI or bait real players online.
Goal 6: Finish Games With a Good Grade
Play Street Kings, focus on getting assists and making smart plays, and finish the game quickly. As long as you maintain a good teammate grade, you can move through these games fairly quickly.
Goal 7
For this goal, playing against real players is generally the better option. Human players tend to make more mistakes than the AI, which can give you more opportunities to complete defensive requirements.
Goal 8: Get Steals
The Rec Center is a good choice. Press the ball, look for passing lanes, and go for blitzes when you see an opportunity. This is much easier against players who make risky passes than against the AI.
Goal 9: Blocks or Steals
Go back to Street Kings. Get your required blocks or steals, then finish the game. You can use the same strategy of getting the defensive play and then quickly moving on rather than trying to play a full game normally.
Goal 10
This final goal will take some time, so there’s no need to overthink it. Keep playing your preferred mode and work toward the requirement naturally.
Rebounding Specialization
If you’re using a big-man build, Rebounding can actually be easier because many of these stats will happen naturally.
Goal 1: Win Games
Use Twos or Street Kings and finish the games quickly.
Goal 2: Get Rebounds
This is one of the easiest goals to farm in Street Kings. Stay around the paint, allow the AI to take shots, grab the defensive rebound, and then throw the ball down the court. If you have a good rebounding build, you can collect a huge number of rebounds this way. You can also play Threes with friends and have everyone focus on getting rebounds.
Goal 3: More Rebounds
Use the same Street Kings method. Stay in the paint, let the AI shoot, and grab every rebound you can. You don’t even need to worry too much about winning. Your main goal is to collect as many rebounds as possible.
Goal 4: Get 5 Rebounds and Finish
Go into Street Kings, grab five rebounds, and then focus on finishing the game. If you’re using a centre or power forward, you may naturally get five rebounds without having to force them.
Goal 5: Get Box Outs
You can farm this in Street Kings, but you can also play online if you’re tired of playing against the AI. The important thing is to make sure you’re getting a box-out opportunity on every possession. Keep doing it throughout your games and the requirement will eventually be completed.
Goal 6: Finish Games With a Good Grade
Big-man builds usually have an easier time getting good teammate grades. Play Twos or Street Kings, grab rebounds, make good passes, and finish the game.
Goal 7: More Defensive Rebounds
Go back to the Street Kings method. Stay in the paint, grab defensive rebounds, and throw the ball up the court afterward. You can put on something to watch while grinding this because it can become repetitive.
Goal 8: More Rebounds
Again, stay near the basket on offense and focus on getting defensive boards. After grabbing the rebound, you can either throw the ball down the court or pass it out and let your teammates continue the possession.
Goal 9: Get 5 Rebounds and Win
Street Kings is probably the best option. Grab five rebounds and then finish the game as quickly as possible. Twos can be less reliable for this because there may not be enough missed shots.
Goal 10
At this point, you can either continue farming rebounds in Street Kings or simply start playing normally. If you’re already using a strong rebounding build, you’ll naturally collect plenty of boards while playing.
