In Palworld 1.0, Ancient Relics can be considered one of the most important late-game resources needed to acquire valuable crafting materials, rare passives, and powerful equipment schematics. In this guide, you will find one of the most efficient farming routes, learn how to gain the most Ancient Relics, and discover other methods of obtaining the Ancient Relics as well as World Tree Holy Water.
What Are Ancient Relics Used For?
In Palworld 1.0, Ancient Relics are some of the most precious resources in the game, as their value lies in the fact that they can be traded in exchange for numerous endgame rewards. They can be collected in several ways, however, one of the most effective methods remains farming enemy packs in the World Tree, especially in case you also require some World Tree Holy Water.
Ancient relics can be used in combination with World Tree Holy Water in the Ancient Relic Recycler. Recycling them brings you many endgame materials, such as precious gems used in crafting of Awakening Crystals, the Work Suitability Books, Disposable Implants for unique passives, and schematics for top-tier weapons and armor.
Best Ancient Relic Farming Location

The most effective farming route is near the Watchtower at the Gilded City Ruins, which can be found at coordinates -186, 213, 77. This area offers a combination of a high enemy pack density while the area is also known for the maximum possible chance of finding Aura Pals.
It is advisable to have a Dragon-type Pal with fast-cooldown area-of-effect attack, such as Dragon Burst, is recommended to clear groups of enemies quickly and keep the farming route efficient.
Follow the Farming Route

Make your way north from the Watchtower and search for Wistella packs to beat down. Continue walking up those stairs because this part is essential to spawn an Aura Pal.
Once the stairs have been checked out, you can go to the lower area where more enemy groups can spawn. Defeat every pack you find and go back to the stairs to repeat the loop. Following this method lets you continuously defeat enemy packs and check for those valuable spawns of Aura Pal.
Watch for Aura Pals
Aura Pals are one of the main factors that make this farming route effective. These creatures can be easily identified as they are not a regular spawn in the area, and they have a visible aura surrounding them.
It is advisable to capture Aura Pals, since they can have some World Tree passives. Also, they drop a considerable number of relics in comparison to regular enemies. For example, defeating one Aura Pal gives players 13 Ancient Relics, 4 Gorgeous Ancient Relics, 1 Glistening Ancient Relic, and additional Decayed Ancient Relics.
Alternative Farming Location

Another popular place to farm Ancient Relics by farming them from the Neutral Pals in this area. Also, many players prefer this location because of its high concentration of Alpha Pals. If you plan on farming from Neutral Pals, bring along a Blazehowl Noct and Katress to increase item drops from all Neutral Pals.
While you can farm Ancient Relics from the Grizzbolt and Manda Lux along this route, it is recommended to visit the three Alpha Pal spots marked above. This route remains the preferred strategy if you’re looking to maximize relic gains from glowing Pal spawns.
Additional Farming Opportunities

Stay alert as you navigate the path, and you may just come across nests that may show up from time to time. Each nest holds several enemies, one of which is an Alpha that has the potential to drop extra relics for you.
Also keep in mind that there is a chance for an extra boss to appear near the stairway. If a boss is present when you arrive, extra relics can be obtained from them before resuming your farming loop.
Optional Ways to Improve Farming

If you want to maximize your rewards, there are a couple of options for speeding up the process. Menasting that has been maximized gives you an 80% increase in drops from Electric Pals. It also allows you to increase the spawn rate and drop rate of your to 3x, which means more special Pals will spawn.
If you decide to make the maximum number of spawns, the best option is to use a mounted Pal instead of a glider or wingsuit to collect drops since the mounted Pal has a much larger drop pickup range.
Is Boss Farming Better?
Clearing packs of enemies is often quicker than travelling between bosses. Though bosses and Alpha Pals tend to drop better numbers and higher-quality Ancient Relics, the downtime spent traveling and waiting for respawn counts makes them less efficient than continuously defeating enemy groups.
Treasure chests and fishing can sometimes yield Ancient Relics, but they are slower options than farming enemy packs.
Farming Results
Following this farming route for around 20 minutes will provide:
- 478 Decayed Ancient Relics
- 141 Dormant Ancient Relics
- 54 Stunning Ancient Relics
- 13 Glistening Ancient Relics
- 20 Glowing Ancient Relics
In addition to these, the same farming round also gives:
- 1,165 Small Pal Souls
- 330 Holy Waters from the World Tree
- 328 Electric Radiant Gems
It can also be considered the best route for gathering Electric Radiant Gems used for ascension of Electric Pals.
Can You Farm Ancient Relics Passively?
In case you prefer using a more passive method, Expedition Stations can also reward you with Ancient Relics. The World Tree’s Forbidden Area expedition and the Subterranean expedition give you the Ancient Relics over time due to the expeditions that run. If you also want World Tree Holy Water, it will be better to actively farm the enemy camps in the World Tree.
