And My Sugar is one of the first story missions of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Here, you will help Stede Bonnet get back his sugar by spying on Captain Mendoza, infiltrating the heavily guarded fortress and gaining knowledge. You will be learning some important stealth mechanics like eavesdropping, blending in crowds, pickpocketing and using Eagle Vision here to keep away from enemy detection. This guide will walk you through every objective so you can complete the mission without any trouble.
And My Sugar Quest
Go to the docks (220,574) located at the eastern part of Havana in order to talk to Stede Bonnet and move ahead with your mission. The most important thing that Stede wants back is the stolen sugar, as it is highly valued. Find the two guards around, and when you are near enough, the green ear symbol will start floating above them.
Eavesdropping on the Guards
Make your way to the pile of boxes and barrels located near you and crouch down to avoid being detected. When you get closer, press Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) button to overhear the guards’ talk. Having learned about Captain Mendoza, the guards will begin to run towards the Gallows.
Finding Captain Mendoza
As you approach the Gallows, you will need to mark the key targets on your screen. Make sure you mark the key people, particularly Captain Mendoza. As the execution is going on, you have to keep yourself hidden in the crowd or hiding behind some bushes.
After that, you will notice that Captain Mendoza leaves the area, and you will have to follow him. In any case, don’t get spotted by Captain Mendoza; otherwise, you will fail the mission. Keep yourself hidden from Captain Mendoza’s vision by blending in the crowd and hiding behind the bushes.
Retrieve the stolen goods from Castillo
While you approach Castillo (224,593), remember that it is a secured place. In case you are seen by the guards, you will have to face them right away. To gain access to the Castillo, move towards the left part of the castle and use the scaffolding. After that, jump from one wooden beam to another to reach the platform located at the wall of the castle.
Infiltrating the Fortress
Next, move up the wall in order to get to the top of the Castillo and hide behind the adjacent crates while waiting for the guards to separate. Once the guard at the front is alone, silently eliminate him. Afterwards, move to your right and find the second guard who patrols the area.
Hide from him and wait until he turns his back towards the haystack so you can kill him silently. Continue making your way to Captain Mendoza, but do not engage him in combat. Wait until he is close enough and use the Pickpocket feature to steal the key from him.
Unlocking the Storage Room
After the area has been cleared, make your way towards the green marker to the storage room and use Mendoza’s key to open it up, thus starting a cutscene that will continue the story. Once the cutscene is finished, Edward will exit the storage room. After exiting the room, go right and climb on the zipline that will take you down near Stede. Talk to him to finish the mission.
