This article will show you all of the steps required to complete the Templar’s Blade quest in Gothic 1 Remake. You will learn what smithing skills are needed as well as how to demonstrate your skills to Darrion, and then complete Stone’s request for him. Follow each step to make the necessary weapons for the quest, complete the quest, and receive both experience and nugget rewards.
Start The Templar’s Blade Quest

Begin The Templar’s Blade by speaking with Stone, the blacksmith in the Old Camp. Before visiting him, learn one-handed smithing from Hugo in the Old Camp.
Once you have learned one-handed smithing and have a piece of gear to work with, go to the forge in Chapter 2 and ask Stone for help with making two-handed weapons. This will unlock the two-handed smithing skill.
Once he teaches you how to Smith two-handed weapons, he will tell you about the Templar and will ask you to study it further.
Find Gor Na Zar and Craft the Required Swords

Go to the Swamp Camp, search the temple for Gor Na Zar, and talk to him about the sword. When asking for the sword, he will refuse to give it. You can fight him to get the sword or simply leave without it; however, if you attempt to defeat him, then all of the people around him (including Templars and Novices) will attack you. The best solution is to leave quietly and return back and see Darrion at the Swamp Camp’s blacksmith.

Tell Darion that you want a sword like Gor Na Zar’s. He will ask you to prove your smithing skills by creating a Light Two-Handed Sword as proof of your abilities. To create the light two-handed sword, you will first need to purchase the blueprint from Darrion (for around 400 and 500 nuggets) then use 1 Steel to forge the sword.
Shape the blade on the anvil and cool it off by immersing it in the water. Once you have shaped and cooled the blade, you will need to attach a Steel Blade to it, a True Iron, and a Wood to finish off the sword. The finished sword will inflict 60 damage.

Return the sword to Darrion, who approves of your work and teaches you the War Sword blueprint. Forge 2 Iron Pieces, then complete the weapon using Willow Wood, 1 Steel, Ruby, and Leather. If you’re missing any materials, you can buy them from Darrion. The completed War Sword deals 34 damage and is a one-handed sword.
Return to Stone and Claim Your Reward

Take the War Sword back to Stone in the Old Camp. He examines the weapon, comments on its craftsmanship, and admits that Darrion is a skilled blacksmith before keeping the sword.
Completing The Templar’s Blade rewards you with 500 Experience and 17 Nuggets.
