Sky Lanterns are an objective in the Discover Japan Collection Journal in Forza Horizon 6. It is supposed to appear at night during autumn. Completing the challenge is easier than what you might think. In this guide, you will learn where to find Sky Lanterns and how to get the necessary photo to complete the objective.
Go to the Sky Lantern Location
You’ll need to head towards the area next to the stadium in the Shimanoyama Region where you will find the Sky Lanterns for the Discover Japan Collection Journal challenge.
Once you’re at the marked location, you’ll find yourself in front of a shallow water body. Go right from there, towards the houses, cross the fences, and go to the main road. You’ll need to find a spot and wait for the Sky Lanterns to appear.
The sky lanterns will only show up in autumn and are visible after dark; however, completing the task doesn’t necessarily require you to wait until night.
Use Photo Mode to Spot the Lanterns
When you arrive at the site, go into Photo Mode and make any necessary adjustments to the camera if the lanterns do not immediately appear.
If you have not yet found the lanterns, back away a little more from the site. The lanterns could become visible at longer distances, but will go out when you approach too closely.
Take a Picture to Complete the Challenge
Take a photo of the Sky Lanterns once you’ve found them. The day’s events can also register for the challenge, but may not be visible in the picture taken to show the lantern’s appearance clearly.
If the lanterns won’t show up, continue to change position or camera until you finally see them and then take the photo to complete the required Collection Journal task.
