Post a Clean Lap
The most important requirement is completing a clean lap. If your lap does not complete satisfactorily during the run and you accidentally hit a wall, the lap will show a yellow exclamation mark. Generally, this kind of flagged lap doesn’t count towards the challenge, so if you find yourself not being able to complete this event properly, this might be the reason.
Use Assists and Easier Rivals
If you have trouble beating the rival’s time, you can use difficulty settings before starting the Rivals event and enable assist features like auto steering and assisted braking. Doing this will allow your vehicle to automatically steer and brake while you concentrate on accelerating.
Another option would be to select a new rival when on the Rivals selection screen by clicking the Y button.
