Finding every Tadpole upgrade in Subnautica 2 can significantly improve your exploration, survivability, and storage capacity underwater. From the Haul Chassis upgrades to the Depth Module, Strike Armor, and Charger modules, each upgrade is hidden in dangerous wrecks, deep caves, and alien zones. Here’s where to find all Tadpole upgrade locations in the game.
All Tadpole Upgrades
In Subnautica 2, there are a total of eight Tadpole upgrades available. Here’s a simple breakdown of all eight.
Scout Ray Chassis
To get the Scout Ray Chassis, you’ll need to investigate the Tadpole Pens. Simply go inside using the circular entrance and follow a straight path to reach the Scout Ray Chassis.
Engine Efficiancy
To get Engine Efficiancy, you’ll need to go to the Alien Ruins where there’s a Research Outpost in front of it. Go inside through the small circular entrance and you’ll find the Engine Efficiancy on the right side of the area.
Strike Armor
To obtain the Strike Armor, you’ll need to go to the setup that’s present on the left side of the big tower. There, you’ll find the armor placed on a table that’s situated on the right side. The armor helps you gain physical resistance from attacks.
Cavitation Muffler
To get the Cavitation Muffler, you’ll need to go to the Alien Ruins and take a deep dive on its right side. Keep diving deeper and you’ll come across the Cavitation Muffler recipe lying on top of a wreck. The Cavitation Muffler reduces noise and helps avoid unwanted attention.
Photovoltaic Charger
To get the Photovoltaic Charger, you’ll need to swim left from the Alien Ruins and find the starship wreck. Go around the wreck to find a small entrance and use it to go inside where you’ll find a broken door on the right side of the area. Use your repair tool to fix the door and proceed further. Inside, follow a straight path and then take a left to reach the room where you’ll find the Photovoltaic Charger. This charger helps Tadpole’s power cell in shallow waters at daytime.
Depth Module MK.1 & Haul Chassis 1
To obtain the Depth Module MK.1 & Haul Chassis 1, you’ll need to take a deep dive on the left of Alien Ruins and go near the Rosetta Stone. Around 250 meters you’ll come across the Needler Nest cave. Inside, you’ll find a small opening through which you’ll enter the area where you’ll find the Depth Module MK.1 and Haul Chassis 1 side by side.
Haul Chassis 2
To get the second Haul Chassis, you’ll need to dive on the right side of the Alien Ruins and reach the Alterra starship wreck. You’ll need to search around the wreck and you’ll eventually come across the second Haul Chassis.
Haul Chassis 3
To get the third Haul Chassis, you’ll need to dive a little towards the southeast. Go past the area with the red flowers and turn left. Keep diving and you’ll find the third Haul Chassis on the ocean floor near the acid pools.
