In Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, during the “A Still-Beating Heart” quest, you’ll encounter hazardous, lava-filled tunnels with many enemies present in there, along with numerous dead ends to navigate. The quest objectives include destroying barricades, discovering tunnels on Hefaetrus, defeating the Beast of the Deep, and escaping the area.
Enter the Northern Tunnels
To start the quest, you’ll need to explore north and find the tunnels. After entering the tunnel, continue exploring the area that leads to the main path. Because of the lava and fire inside, you will face severe threats from enemies on top of the already dangerous landscape.
After you move further inside the tunnel, you will discover a barricade blocking your path. To get past the barricade, kill all the enemies in the area, then destroy the barricade to move ahead. Since the enemies in this area are quite fierce, be cautious when clearing them before continuing to advance deeper into the tunnels.
Explore the Tunnels of Hefaetrus
Once you have completed the first section, your objective will now change to exploring Hefaetrus tunnels. You will need to continue on the east side of the Hefaetrus tunnels, taking the available paths. Keep moving northwest whenever possible as you make your way deeper into the area.
There will be many paths inside the Hefaetrus tunnels that will lead you to dead ends. If you reach a dead end, go back and take the other path until you find the correct path to continue on. You’ll need to continue moving through the tunnels while defeating enemies along the way.
Defeat the Beast of the Deep
As part of your journey, near the end of the quest, you will need to face the Beast of the Deep. Defeating this enemy is the final objective and main combat encounter in the tunnels. Once the battle is finished, be sure to collect all the loot dropped in the area and continue toward the nearby opening. Once you’re outside the tunnels, you will successfully complete the A Still-Beating Heart quest.
