Completing each side mission across Totenreich will unlock the Viking helmets needed for Black Ops 7 Zombies, which unlocks additional skills that enhance your gameplay and count towards the hidden achievement for successfully collecting these helmets. This guide will show you how to complete each step of the process necessary to obtain all four Viking helmets in one match.

Kneehigh Helmet (Gnome Transformation Ability)

The Kneehigh Helmet, which allows you to become a gnome for a limited time, is an amazing side quest. To start off, you need to equip a weapon with the Shadow Rift ammo mod and then find and shoot four secret gnomes throughout the map.

At Tyr’s Foot, you will encounter some gnomes on a bunker located inside the Scallan Stave Church. The gnome located at Beacon Island resides at the top of the lighthouse, whereas the last gnome can be found at the Machine Workshop located at the end of stairs along the ridge. Once all of these gnomes have been shot by using Shadow Rift, they will teleport away.

When you have collected all four, they then go back to Loven’s Antiques. Once all are present, the Kneehigh Helmet becomes available.

When you put this item on it will transform you into a gnome for 30 seconds, providing you with power in which no damage can be inflicted on you but you can inflict damage on zombies with fairy-like projectiles. When 30 seconds have passed you can spend 6,000 essence to purchase this ability again.

Golden Tide Helmet (Improved Fishing Rewards)

In order to unlock the Golden Tide Helmet, you must first find a fishing rod called Olaf’s Cranker Cod fishing pole. The fishing pole spawns randomly throughout several locations such as the Dry Docks, Storm Bridge, Fishery Island, next to the Pack-a-Punch machine, and on many of the shorelines.

After you have a fishing rod, you can use it at any of the several fishing spots located near water with red holders. Once you place the fishing rod, you need to wait for it to turn blue before interacting again to reel in your fish. Fishing rewards can be various, such as essence, salvage, perk cans, weapons, scorestreaks, and much more. Additionally, you may catch zombies or Ravagers when fishing.

Once you’ve fished a lot, there will eventually be a viking zombie named Olaf Cranker Cod that you will encounter when reeling in your line. After you defeat him, he will drop the Golden Tide Helmet. When you equip the Golden Tide Helmet while fishing you will receive better loot.

Cointoss Helmet (Increased Power-Up Drops)

You’ll need to unlock Pack-a-Punch and unlock Tier’s Head first to acquire the Cointoss Helmet. Inside there is a computer with a series of sequences that will display a letter and number as a coordinate, as well as the number of zombies to kill. Note both the number and kill count, then use your map to navigate to that coordinate to kill the number of zombies indicated.

Once you have done that, make your way back to Tier’s Head, and the area will glow in green if you completed the prior step correctly. At this point, there will be a power-up that spawns at this location which can be repeated up to ten times.

On your tenth completion, instead of receiving a power-up, the Cointoss Helmet will spawn, allowing you to equip it and enhance the rate at which you will receive power-ups from killed zombies.

Icebane Helmet (Freeze Immunity and Frost Slide)

The Icebane Helmet is obtained by using the Flaming Foul trap. You need to get 250 standard zombie kills using the flamethrower function of the trap.

In addition, you must get 50 frozen zombie kills using the trap’s freezing aura while using a bullet weapon. Explosive weapons should not be used for this step.

After completing both requirements, the helmet will drop and can be picked up. When equipped, it prevents you from freezing during special rounds and also works during the boss fight against Dravakar.

It also grants a frost slide ability, freezing zombies when you slide into them. However, using this helmet alongside PhD Flopper cancels out the sliding effect.
