If you are at your base or out in the open sea, knowing how to fix your ship will help you avoid disaster. This guide covers all the important methods to make your vessel seaworthy.
How to Repair Your Ship
There are two main methods to repair your ship, depending on your position, whether you’re docked at base or out at sea.
Repairing Your Boat at the Wharf
The easiest option for repairing your vessel is when you’re docked at your main base and have access to a wharf.
When you go to visit the wharf, you have the ability to view what your current ship’s overall health percentage is. Within your ship’s overall health section, you will also be able to access a section where you can choose to repair your ship. The ship can be repaired for 20 pieces of wood. Once you confirm that, the repair will be completed directly from the wharf.
Crafting Repair Kits
If you’re not near your base, you can use your repair kit, which can be made from a workstation using the materials supplied.
- Repair Kit
- Combat Repair Kit
- Master Combat Repair Kit (as you level up)
Once you create your repair kit, you must transfer it to your ship’s inventory via the wharf or by clicking on the ship’s wheel and going to the ship management option.
Using Repair Kits
You will be able to utilise the repair kits once they are added to your ship’s hold whilst sailing.
- A standard repair kit will provide a 40% restoration of your ship’s health in an elapsed time of 2 minutes, but if damage occurs during that time period, the repair process is interrupted.
- Combat use of repair kits restore 30% of the ship’s health in a very short period of 10 seconds, similar to the standard repair kits. If any damage occurs during this time, the repair will also be interrupted.
There are fast-access switches that help to initiate a repair while cruising your ship. Once activated, a timer will appear, and the ship’s health will gradually increase.
Choosing the Right Method
- Use the wharf when you are docked for a simple and resource-based repair.
- Use repair kits while sailing. Regular kits are better when you are safe, while combat repair kits are more useful during fights due to their speed.
Note: In addition to crafting, repair kits can also be found in loot chests. Enemy ships you sink will often drop them as well.
