This guide will help you locate every document and encounter each spirit, ensuring you don’t miss important lore, upgrades, or hidden interactions early in the game.
All Collectibles Locations
In Fatal Frame 2 Remake’s Chapter 1, you’ll be able to find 12 collectibles. Here’s an easy breakdown on how to find all 12:
News Clippings
To get the first document, which is New Clippings in Chapter 1 of the game, you’ll need to go to the marked location in Minakami Village Osaka. There, you’ll find an old house inside, where the New Clippings can be found lying on the floor.
Woman’s Notebook 1
To get the Woman’s Notebook 1, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Sunken Hearth Room. There, you’ll find a drawer on the left side of the room beside the window. The Woman’s Notebook 1 could be found on the floor just in front of the drawer.
Woman’s Notebook 2
After you get the Woman’s Notebook 1, search the right side of the room, and you’ll find a netting covering a sleeping spot. You’ll find the Woman’s Notebook 2 just beside the mattress.
Woman’s Notebook 3
For the Woman’s Notebook 3, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Kimono Room on the first floor. There, you’ll find a sort of closet in the back of the room. Go inside, and you’ll find the Woman’s Notebook 3 lying on the left side just in front of the huge drawer.
Woman’s Notebook 4
To get the Woman’s Notebook 4, head over to the Osaka House Sunker Hearth Room on the first floor. Once there, try to look for an entrance that has a sort of curtain working as a door. Go past the entrance, and you’ll find the Woman’s Notebook 4 on the right side.
Camera Obscura Memo
To find the Camera Obscura Memo, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Dirt Hallway. You’ll find a wooden door on the right side of the hallway, which you’ll need to unlock using a Myoga Motif Key. Once you enter the room, you’ll find the memo lying on top of some boxes.
The Wanderer (Spirit 1)
To find the spirit, The Wanderer – Wraith, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Altar Room. There, you’ll find a wooden door on the left, open it, and you’ll come across the spirit. Raise your Camera Obscura and shoot photos to drive off the wraiths.
Twin Dolls (Spirit 2)
For the Twin Dolls and Spirit 2, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Kimono Room’s first floor. There, beside the window, you’ll find a doll on the rack. Take out your Camera Obscura and click a photo of the doll to reveal the Twin Dolls.
Woman Roaming Second Floor (Spirit 3)
To get the third spirit, which is the Woman Roaming the Second Floor, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Sunken Hearth Room. If you look up on your right, you’ll find the woman roaming there on the second floor. Use your Camera Obscura to shoot, and you’re done with the spirit.
Woman’s Notebook 5
To find the Woman’s Notebook 5, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House Sunken Hearth Room. On the left side, you’ll find a staircase, which you’ll have to use to reach a hallway. The notebook can be found simply lying on the floor there.
Beckoning Woman (Spirit)
To find the Beckoning Woman spirit, you’ll need to open the gate on the left of the hallway where you found Woman’s Notebook 5. Go inside, and you’ll find a room to your left. Take out your Camera Obscura and shoot to find the Beckoning Woman.
Woman’s Notebook 9
To get the Woman’s Notebook 9, you’ll need to go to the Osaka House West Guest Room on the second floor. There, you’ll find a small library of sorts where the notebook can be found lying on the floor.
