The Winterlights season has rolled back into Palia, and Kilima is once again covered in snow, twinkling lights, and merriment. To start this season, there will be a scavenger hunt put on by Zeki. Seven clues will be sent to your mailbox, and they will lead you to a random location with a Winterlights Chest.
“If you’re struggling with these clues, here are locations for all chests, and what you get for completing Zeki’s Christmas challenge.”
How To Do the Winterlights Scavenger Hunt
Once you start Winterlights, you will receive a note with all seven riddles from Zeki. You can refer back to them at any time by looking at the book on Zeki’s counter. A riddle will unlock a single chest with the name Winterlights Chest, and it will be necessary to get every reward associated with Winterlights.
We will look at each clue and its position.
First Chest Location
Riddle: “One’s staying hydrated by the Inn’s outer docks.”
Proceed to the inn at the edge of Kilima Village, as Reth and Ashura normally are there. Crawl behind it and search around the water tank at the outer docking area. It will be nestled just at the very back.

Second Chest Location
Riddle: “Two was headed to Embra but slipped on the rocks.”
This clue references Embra, who is the phoenix goddess of Palia. Head on over to Phoenix Falls, which is up north in Kilima. Just before the initial ramp that leads towards the shrine, search among the rocks on your left and on the river.

Third Chest Location
Riddle: ‘Three’s by the pond and can’t find its way down.’
This points towards Mirror Pond Ruins. You have to look for the tall fallen column leaning against a tree. The chest appears at a very high position. It’s a bit tough to get. Just glide towards the tree and mash your interact button.

Fourth Chest Site
Riddle: “While four’s catching Zzz’s in an office downtown.”
“Offices” exist only in one edifice at Kilima, and that would be the Town Hall. Skip Kenli’s office, which will be at Eshe’s. Walk up the stairs, and you will see it on your right as you enter.

Fifth Chest Site
Riddle: “Five thinks it’s hidden beneath a gazebo.”
The gazebo with the giant Christmas Tree, near the Town Hall, is the one you want. Approach it and see the piles of gifts around the Christmas Tree. The chest will be wedged among these gifts.

Sixth Chest Site
Riddle: “Six ain’t eavesdroppin’, ask Jina
It’s an indication that leads you indirectly to Hekla because Jina spends most of her time with her. Go to the northwest corner of Kilima and check behind Hekla’s tent. You will get the chest hidden.

Seventh Chest location
Riddle: “Seven’s the last, then you have them all — just look in the shadows at ol’ Butterball!”
Butterball is an obscure reference, but your hint suggests it might be related to some sort of livestock. Head to Badruu’s farming area at the Ormuu pens. You will find a smaller pen with a tiny shelter. That’s where you will find your last chest.

Winterlights Challenge Rewards
Finding these seven chests will not only finish off Zeki’s scavenger hunt, but it will also reward you with access to buy 23 winter-themed crafting recipes from the event shop at Winterlights. Some will drop from these chests, but you will need the recipes if you want more. These recipes include:

By completing Zeki’s challenge early, you have ample time on your hands to collect materials, prepare your plot, and complete all Winterlights objectives before the event is over.
