The side stories in Octopath Traveller 0 do more than flesh out the world; they help Wishvale grow. Once the townsfolk finish rebuilding their church after Chapter 5 of “Kindlers of the Flame,” a new altar appears inside. That altar is tied to a set of special collectables called Azure Flamestones, and each one you place unlocks a useful feature. There are only three in the whole game, but finding them all is absolutely worth it.
What Azure Flamestones do

Azure Flamestones are keys that upgrade the altar in Wishvale. Each time you make an offering, you activate one of three perks:
- Fast travel to routes and dungeons, not just to the towns
- Reveal elite enemy locations and any unopened treasure chests on the world map
- Acquire the power to speak to animals
You’ll eventually unlock all three once you have the full set, but the order still matters. The fast-travel expansion is tempting, but speaking to animals is the one to grab first. Many animals can actually move into Wishvale, and some grant surprisingly good resident bonuses or rewards when you “Inquire” them.
The elite enemy and treasure chest reveal perk can wait until last-those are pretty easy to track on your own by checking area maps or watching for the obvious elite markers.
Where to Find All Three Azure Flamestones

There are only three stones, but if you don’t know where to look, two of them are easy to miss. Here’s where each one comes from:
1. Grandport
In Grandport, find the Travelling Merchant and entreat him. If it looks like your success rate is terrible, don’t push it-you can try again later when your Wealth stat is higher. He has one of the Azure Flamestones.
2. Wishvale (Automatic)
The second Flamestone requires no searching whatsoever. The moment the altar’s done during the story, you’re just given this one.
3. Silver Spring
Deep in Silver Spring, which is the dungeon for Bestower of Wealth Chapter 3, you will find the last one. It is a glowing blue item toward the end of the area. You would have to really not be paying attention to visually miss it, but you do have to be far enough in the story to enter the dungeon. If you happen to walk past it, there is always later to go back and pick it up.
