Where Winds Meet abounds with secret areas, and one of the earliest is within the Merchant Caravan Gathering itself, hidden behind the introductory quests: the General’s Statue Dungeon, a short but rewarding area, conceals a special Mystic Skill and the General’s Treasure.
You actually have to complete the exploration challenge of Echoes in the Shrine before you can enter it. It then opens up fully and becomes accessible. Here’s how to start the quest, clear the puzzles, and reach the treasure at the end.

Start Echoes in the Shrine

During the main mission, you will be going to the General’s Shrine in Qinghe while following Ruby. After you talk to her near the dancing horse, you are free to roam around the ruins nearby.
Look for a man who is bowing at the entrance. Talking to him activates the Echoes in the Shrine quest. He mentions bowing a thousand times, though the real number is three, so remember that for later.

Once back in control, turn toward the entrance of the shrine. On the left-hand side, you’ll see a slab of stone lying on the floor. Perform a Power Slam on it: jump into the air and then hit Q for it to break, revealing a secret room filled with arrows, armor, and an investigation point. Interacting with it rewards more clues about a local sect.

Go ahead and open the chest with a plentiful supply of Fire Arrows. You’ll need about 120 to deal with the puzzles inside. Equip them by drawing your bow, holding Alt, and scrolling to select the Fire Arrow option.
Use a Fire Arrow on the thick hedge blocking the next passage. Drop down, light the lamp, and kill the enemy hiding in the area. Head forward and you will notice three bandits talking to each other beside several red jars. Those jars are explosive, so a Fire Arrow takes out the bunch in an instant.

Head deeper and activate the checkpoint in the hallway. On the left side, you’ll see a gap that’s too wide to jump. Look straight up to find another overgrown hedge blocking a bridge mechanism. Shoot it with a Fire Arrow to lower the bridge, then cross carefully. Falling simply resets you to the checkpoint, but you lose health and time.
At the end of the plank walkway is a small room containing a lever. Pull it to open the next door.

Boss Battle & General’s Statue Puzzle

In the next room, a handful of enemies patrol around an investigation point. Kill them and investigate the corpse to discover the Cloud Steps Mystic Art. The skill allows you to do fast air dashes and sometimes reach faraway platforms. It’s also pretty good as a stun in combat, so equip it in one of your Mystic Skill slots.

Head upstairs and push through the door into a large hall. Several enemies roam the room, along with more explosive jars. Use the jars to thin them out, then shoot down the lookout on the balcony. When he falls, a boss encounter begins.
Watch its attack colours closely. Red means dodge, yellow means parry. The fight is manageable with good timing. There’s a chest on each balcony after defeating the boss, so be sure to check them before heading back to the ground floor.

In front of the large General’s Statue, you’ll find a Prayer Mat. You can use it to bow three times. The statue moves, showing a chest hidden behind it. When you’re ready, climb the balconies once more, open the side chests if you haven’t yet, and push into the next room. A winding hallway leads up a ladder. Climb up, open the final set of doors, and the dungeon concludes.
