The Warbling Shores Styxia Janus’ Maze is one of the more complex series of puzzle you’ll encounter in Honkai: Star Rail update 3.5. Hidden deep within the Slumbering Palace Corridor, it tests your nine different maze puzzles through timing, accuracy, and understanding of rotating mechanisms.

First, though, you’ll have to obtain access to the Janus’ Maze—no simple task in and of itself.

Attaining Access to the Janus’ Maze in the Slumbering Palace Corridor

The puzzle room is blocked by a dry pool in the Slumbering Palace Corridor. To enter it, you will have to go through a multi-step procedure consisting of Evernight/Dawn mechanics, traversing the environment, and puzzle triggering.

Begin by using fast-travel to the Slumbering Palace Corridor Space Anchor. From there, go west to the Tome of Miracles and change to Evernight from Dawn. Travel across the lotus leaves to the east, turn on the Miracle Orbs, then head back to the Tome and change back to Dawn. Behind it is an elevator that leads up to the second floor, where you’ll change to Evernight again and cross the bridge.

Along the way, you’ll turn off nearby Miracle Orbs, activate a Shrine of Prayers, and loop back toward the eastern route. This path involves descending via elevators, rewinding a water-pouring statue using the Oronyx’s Prayer, and freezing time with the Chrono Vessel. Once the Black Tide is cleared, descend to the pool’s bottom floor, pass through the eastern double doors—and the Janus’ Maze will be waiting inside alongside a treasure chest.

How Janus’ Maze Works

Janus’ Maze consists of nine individual puzzles, each found in the shape of a movable labyrinth which directs a marble into a particular chute or destination. You can switch between puzzles using the Maze Scroll Fragment in the room. A neighboring mechanism starts each test, and the underlying mechanic is turning the maze to create paths for the marble while avoiding dead ends.

Janus’ Maze Puzzle Solutions

Daily Requests – Volume 1

Rotate the maze so the marble has an open path to the center. Occasionally stop rotating at certain points so that it will fall through holes to lower levels.

Daily Requests – Volume 2

Nudge the marble through two slices of wood, spacing out your turns so it falls into the lower troughs. Patience is needed here—wait for the right alignment before moving again.

Daily Requests – Volume 3

Begin with a 90° counter-clockwise rotation to deposit the marble above an open path. Release it, then use the same controlled rotations to coax it to the end.

Baffling Conundrum – Volume 4

You must wait until the rotating central platform is exactly aligned so that the marble falls onto its destination platform. Don’t hurry or your progress will be cancelled.

Baffling Conundrum – Volume 5

Use the center rotating panel to knock the marble directly down the primary chute, then time your last rotation so it drops nicely in the goal zone.

Baffling Conundrum – Volume 6

Here, panels rotate in varying ways based on your input—sometimes individually, sometimes simultaneously. Utilize this to your benefit, producing staggered gaps for the marble to drop through at strategic times.

Unsolved Mysteries – Volume 7

Operate the right-side panels as an elevator. Lift the marble up into the next section, then force it down through a sequence of well-timed holes.

Unsolved Mysteries – Volume 8

Rotate the maze so that a panel comes towards the left wall, then maintain the motion of the marble constant until directly above the middle wall opening. Once in place, let it drop through.

Unsolved Mysteries – Volume 9

This is the most involved puzzle. Start off by turning the maze around a full revolution, then leave it stationary while the key panel lowers down. From there:

  • Release to let the marble fall.
  • Turn to shove it to the left.
  • Continue turning to send it to the bottom floor.
  • Hold it at the right-hand side until the panel falls again.
  • Finally, coax it softly into the chute.
