Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a first-person shooter game released in 2024, co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, and published by Activision. Like earlier entries in the Black Ops series, Black Ops 6 features both a multiplayer mode and a cooperative round-based Zombies mode. The Russian Mangler Soldiers were a compelling addition to the zombie forces in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and now they’re back in full force in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. These tough mini-bosses have quickly become a key part of the undead army, presenting a challenge for both newcomers and seasoned players alike. But now, players can turn the tables by transforming into a Mangler themselves in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
Become a Mangler in Black Ops 6 Zombies
A Mangler might be a bit slow and have an arm cannon that’s an easy target, players who temporarily take on this undead form won’t have to worry about those drawbacks. Instead, they’ll be focused on using their new power to smash any zombie that tries to interrupt their progress in the higher rounds.
To truly experience what it’s like to be a Mangler in Call of Duty Zombies, players need to get their hands on the Support Scorestreak called the Mutant Injection. This rare item typically drops when you defeat Manglers, and you can find it near their bodies along with other useful items like armor plates and ammo. To get a Mutant Injection players need to defeat Manglers, or finish S.A.M. Challenges, or open safety deposit boxes in the bank vault at Liberty Falls. Another option for players is to reach Level 39. After that, they can visit any Crafting Table on the map, go to the Support category, and buy a Mutant Injection for 2,500 Salvage.
How can you Use Mangler in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Now that players have the Mutant Injection, they might be wondering what this strange syringe does. Using it will transform players into powerful Manglers. Once they select it by pressing Down on the D-Pad or 3 on the keyboard, they’ll become invulnerable to all damage as they begin their transformation. Players will then switch to a third-person view, taking on the character model of a Mangler, complete with their weapons and power. While in this form, they’re immune to damage and have a timer in the bottom left of the screen showing how long they’ll stay transformed. Plus, when it’s time to revert to a regular survivor, a blast will help clear out the zombies, giving players a chance to get back on their feet.
In Mangler mode, players get access to an infinite-ammo Mangler Cannon, which they can charge up to auto-target specific enemies or shoot through hordes by holding and releasing R2/RT/Left-Click. The cannon’s blast can easily take out multiple zombies at once, earning players 50 Essence for each kill. Players can also use the sprint button ‘L3/Shift’ to charge into zombies, and the Mangler’s bulk will let them smash through enemies like a freight train. The Mutant Injection is ideal for when players find themselves surrounded or at risk of going down; while it’s not the most effective against other Manglers and Abominations, it provides a good window of invulnerability to absorb damage and fight back.
