How to Get the Reception Office Padlock Code
To unlock the combination lock in Silent Hill 2, you must find a note from a nurse in Exam Room 3. This note will give you three clues. You’ll need to match these clues to three paintings in the lobby. The order of the paintings will give you a three-digit code.
To get the nurse’s memo, you need to jump through a window to get into Exam Room 3. Then, go through the door on the right side. The memo is on the desk right when you walk in. The clue you will see will depend on how hard you have set the game.
Light Difficulty Clue
The combination for the key locker is:
- 2
- 8
The total number of nurses in the lobby photo.
In easy mode, the clues are very easy to understand. You’ll be given the first two numbers right away. The last number is the number of nurses you see in a photo near the lock. This photo is right by the lock, so you can’t miss it.
Padlock code: 2 – 8 – 7
Standard Difficulty Clue
I wrote it down for you in a way you should finally be able to remember. Once you’re in the lobby, just look around. Now remember:
Nurses. Doctors. Trees.
For this clue, you need to count the number of nurses, doctors, and trees in the photos along the hallway near the nurse’s station. Put the numbers in the same order as the clue and you’ll have the code.
Padlock code: 7 – 2 – 4
Hard Difficulty Clue
If the second were as high as the number of nurses, it’d still be one short. With two of them dead and one just a fraud.
The third would chop the firewood in half.
The first was singular.
This one is a little trickier. First, count the nurses and add 1 because of the line that says “one short.” Then, subtract 3 because “two are dead and one is a fraud.” This number will be the second one.
The third number is just half the number of trees in the picture. Finally, the first number is 1 because of the word “singular.”
Padlock code: 1 – 5 – 2
Unlocking the Padlock
After reading it, go to the hospital lobby and look at the pictures on the wall. You’ll see all the things from the paintings in the pictures. Look for the number of nurses, doctors, and trees.
After you find the numbers based on the clue, go to the lock at the reception office and enter the numbers you figured out. Remember that the numbers will be different depending on how hard you set the game, because the clues are different. After you open the lock at the reception, you’ll get a key called the Basement Key. This key lets you go into the basement of the hospital to continue the story.
