As you explore the streets of Silent Hill, you’ll uncover a lot about the game world. You’ll come across notes left by the town’s residents, which are crucial for solving the various puzzles throughout the game. Plus, if you look for extra notes in the streets, shops, and cars, you’ll realize that you’re not the only one grappling with the horrors of Silent Hill. One of the puzzles is the Grand Market keypad Code. It is an early puzzle that gives you ammo and health items as a reward for solving it. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to access the Grand Market keypad code.

How to Get the Grand Market Keypad Code

Opening the keypad to access the Grand Market grocery store is optional, and it’s easy to overlook the information needed to crack the code. However, getting through it can be very beneficial, especially early in the game, since you’ll find ammo and health items inside that can really help you out. Here’s what you need to know to find the code for the Grand Market keypad, and if you’d prefer not to solve it yourself, we’ll provide the code too.

You’ll find the Grand Market at the corner of Katz Street and Neely Street. The main entrance is boarded up, but there’s a side entrance you can use if you can crack the keypad code.

From there head southeast to Sanders Street. There, beside a semi-trailer truck, you’ll find a corpse with a memo called “Code Note” next to it.

Grand Market puzzle solution

The note reveals that someone trying to get into the Grand Market checked codes from 4014 to 4439 and felt they were “so close” after testing. This means the correct code is just after 4439. After a bit of trial and error, you’ll find that the code you need to enter is 4444. Head back to the keypad and enter the code to unlock the door. Once you’re inside, you’ll find three boxes of handgun ammo and three health drinks waiting for you.

Note: In Silent Hill 2, the keypad code for the Grand Market varies based on the puzzle difficulty. If you’re playing on ‘Standard’ difficulty, the code is 4444. For ‘Light’ difficulty, it’s 4442, and for ‘Hard’ difficulty, it changes to 4446. You’ll find the keypad on the south side of the Grand Market building, right on Neely Street.
