You will need to find and rescue Fillmore, who is locked away within the mess hall. To find the mess hall key, start from the Mariner’s Keep fireplace and take the stairs leading up to the north. Once you reach the top landing you will find a large bonfire on the right side. If you explore a bit south of the bonfire, you will find the room where Fillmore is being bullied by guards. From there, just go further right and keep going towards the very end. If you look a bit south, you will find another open entrance. Enter through here to find a glowing blue item on the corpse. Investigate it to pick up the Mess Hall Key.
You can now head back and unlock the mess hall to free Fillmore. But there is a tough fight ahead, as you need to beat the guards here before he can be free. Once you do that, you can unlock the Blacksmith and use Fillmore’s services.
