You have to find a non-feral Thanator to unlock the achievement, as killing a feral one during the questline won’t count. To find one, make your way to Kinglor Forest in Gossamer Lakes, Big Leaf Biome. You have to be above Level 16 to take down the Thanator. Thanators are usually at level 20, but in easy difficulty you won’t have a hard time defeating them.
Once you reach the location, pay attention to your screen. It will turn white at the edges when there is an encounter nearby. You can also faintly hear a heartbeat, which you can use as a guide towards the Thanator. If you are close to the beast, the heartbeat will grow stronger. The Thanator will automatically attack you once you get too close to its territory. Use any weapon to kill it and unlock the achievement.
