Calcharo is an incredibly powerful Electro DPS character, capable of dealing massive damage when his combos are executed correctly. His combo-based playstyle offers plenty of attack options, and his Outro Skill delivers substantial off-field burst damage when switching out, often enough to finish off low-health enemies. However, he’s a bit tricky to master, as improper combo timing can result in a significant drop in damage output. In short, Calcharo is a high-risk, high-reward character that can shine with the right precision.

Best Calcharo Builds

Calcharo is an Electro hypercarry DPS that relies on the ATK stat to scale his damage. Like many DPS characters, he benefits from CRIT stats to boost his overall damage output, as well as Energy Regen to consistently trigger his Resonance Liberation.

Best Calcharo Weapons

The best weapon for Calcharo in Wuthering Waves is Verdant Summit, which boosts his overall damage while providing up to 48% Crit DMG. As a main DPS, Calcharo relies heavily on Crit and extra damage to perform effectively in battle. Another solid option is Lustrous Razor, which allows Calcharo to trigger his Resonance Skill twice in quick succession. This weapon increases his ATK% and Energy Regen, helping him use his Resonance Liberation more efficiently.

For 4-star weapons, the Autumntrace Broadblade (available through the Battlepass) is the top choice for Calcharo. It increases his Crit Rate, Basic ATK, and Heavy ATK—key stats that significantly enhance his damage output. For players looking for free-to-play alternatives, Helios Cleaver, Broadblade of Night, and Guardian Broadblade are all solid options that can hold up until it’s time to upgrade to higher-tier weapons.

Best Calcharo Sonata

The Void Thunder Sonata Effect is the best choice for Calcharo, offering a significant boost to his Electro Damage, especially in combination with Heavy Attacks and the Resonance Skill. For his Main Echo, Flautist is a great option, as it fires ten beams that deal Electro Damage and restore Concerto Energy with each hit, helping you set up rotations for his Intro and Outro Skills. Alternatively, Thundering Mephis provides slightly more direct damage and strong offensive buffs if you prefer a playstyle that requires fewer character swaps. With Calcharo’s built-in Energy Regeneration, you can focus your main stats on offensive attributes to maximize his damage potential.

Best Calcharo Echoes

As an Electro unit in Wuthering Waves, Calcharo should ideally use a full 5-piece Void Thunder set, which boosts his Electro DMG by up to 40%. His primary Echo should be Thundering Mephis, with Crit DMG or Crit Rate as the main stat. This Echo is powerful, dealing multiple instances of Electro DMG to enemies while instantly teleporting to them.

If collecting five Void Thunder pieces is challenging, players can opt for a 5-piece Lingering Tunes set. This provides a good amount of ATK, which still helps boost Calcharo’s damage since he scales with ATK. Alternatively, combining 2 pieces of Void Thunder with 2 pieces of Lingering Tunes will give Calcharo 10% Electro DMG and 10% ATK.

Calcharo Forte Priority

Most of Calcharo’s damage comes from his “Mercy” and “Death Messenger” Heavy Attacks, so upgrading Forte Circuit should be a top priority. While the other abilities still deal significant damage, it’s recommended to upgrade them as well. His Intro Skill is only truly effective when boosted by Resonance Liberation, but it scales with his Ultimate rather than the Intro Skill itself. Therefore, it’s perfectly viable to not prioritize levelling up his Intro Skill. Priority for upgrades are Forte Circuit, Resonance Liberation (Ultimate), Resonance Skill, Basic ATK, Intro Skill.

Conclusion

Calcharo is a versatile character with high DPS potential across various attacks. He has two Forte Gauges: one in his normal state and another that appears when he’s in his Deathblade Gear. In his regular state, hitting enemies with his Resonance Skill fills his Gauge. You can also use his Skills in between Basic ATK without interrupting the combo, as they function independently. Once the Forte Gauge is filled, trigger his Forte Circuit (passive) with a Heavy ATK to activate the Mercy effect. When casting his Resonance Liberation, Calcharo enters his Deathblade Gear state, which expands his Forte Gauge. In this state, his Basic ATK, Outro Skill, and Dodge Counter are all enhanced for 11 seconds. Using his Basic ATK helps fill the Gauge, allowing you to unleash his Death Messenger Heavy ATK once it’s fully charged.
