Where Winds Meet: Mystic Arts Guide

Mystic Arts are among the systems that quietly but dramatically reshape how you explore, fight, and improvise in Where Winds Meet. These are secondary abilities that help you enhance combat, unlock traversal tricks, and solve environmental puzzles. Some of them are passive; others are powerful, activatable skills. And all of them can be leveled to boost their effects.

Below is a clear, reader-friendly breakdown of how Mystic Arts work, how to unlock them, and how to equip them effectively as you progress.

How to Unlock Mystic Arts

Most Mystic Arts are learned through exploration and finding certain NPCs or creatures. A few require the Skill Steal mechanic, which lets you observe an enemy’s movements and “copy” their technique.

Many Mystic Arts are tied to progression, so you’ll naturally pick up a few early on, while others take a bit more hunting.

Here are the Mystic Arts discovered so far, and how to obtain each one:

  • Tai Chi – Learn it from the bear during the A Bear of a Time main quest.
  • Wind Sense — Purchased from the Talent Track.
  • Touch of Death — Complete Echoes of Old Battles at Battlecrest Slope.
  • Cloud Steps — Found within the Tiger Fort dungeon.
  • Leaping Toad — Use Skill Theft on the jumping toad at the General’s Shrine in Qinghe.
  • Lion’s Roar – Ring the copper bells all around Qinghe.
  • Meridian Touch — Learn from Yan Qiren near Stonewashed Shore in Qinghe.
  • Heaven’s Snatch Learn from Qiu Yuehai in Heaven’s Pier.
  • Honking Havoc —  Complete the Who’s the Boss quest and see the aggressive goose involved.
  • Glow of Fireflies — Catch five fireflies at night.
  • Spear Flight — Complete the quest Afterglow.

You can also rely on some upgraded moves early on in the game, like Tai Chi, Lion’s Roar, and Talon Strike, as these will give you more options to smash through breakable walls and even temporarily stun enemies, while the others give good offensive pressure.

Since there are only a few slots, you will want to unlock more eventually, and that requires spending Talent Points through the character upgrade track. The quickest way of doing this is by completing quests, side activities, and exploration.

How to Use Mystic Arts

You can equip up to eight Mystic Arts at any one time, but you’ll likely rotate them in and out depending on whether you’re exploring, sneaking, or preparing for boss fights.

  • In order to arm them with Open the Develop tab in the menu.
  • Head to Abilities → Mystic Arts.
  • Assign each art to an available slot.

Active Mystic Arts are cast with the number keys on the keyboard or via the right-stick radial menu on a controller. Some are passive and activate on their own; movement-based arts may need to be triggered with specific positioning or under specific conditions.
