Celestial Seize is one of four major puzzle skills in Where Winds Meet, and it’s surprisingly versatile. You can swipe items from a distance, pickpocket NPCs, or yank weapons straight out of an enemy’s hands. It’s handy during exploration and a fun tool to mix into fights.
Like many of the important abilities in the game, Celestial Seize is easy to miss. Where Winds Meet loves to obscure key skills behind small quests and chance encounters, and this one is tucked away behind a short scam-busting mission at Heaven’s Pier.

Where to get Celestial Seize in Where Winds Meet

You get the Celestial Seize by finishing the Foul Play Exploration Quest in Heaven’s Pier. It is a very short quest and can be completed within a minute or two.
As you make your way around, you come across Hu Wei bragging about how no one can beat him in a drinking contest. Qiu Yuehai will then approach you and inform you that Hu Wei is cheating. Instead of confronting Hu Wei, Qiu Yuehai asks for your discretion in stealing Hu Wei’s hidden vial of Nullifying Pills, which he uses to cheat in the drinking contest.
To help you out, Qiu Yuehai teaches you Celestial Seize on the spot. The game places it in your first Mystic Skill slot for this moment. Use the skill, target the Nullifying Pill vial, and snatch it away.
When the pills are all gone, approach Hu Wei and offer him a fair drink-off. He’ll lose immediately, and the scam is revealed. The villagers chase him off, Qiu Yuehai thanks you, and Celestial Seize is yours to use whenever.

How Celestial Seize Works

Celestial Seize has two major uses, depending on whether you’re exploring or fighting.
In Exploration
You can use it to:
- Pickpocket NPCs from a distance.
- Grab things that would otherwise be out of reach.
- Pickpocketing doesn’t have a success rate of 100%, so be prepared to sometimes fail.
In Combat
Celestial Seize becomes an offensive skill that:
- Rips an enemy’s weapon away and smashes it back into them.
- Deals damage based on the weapon’s weight, so heavier weapons hit much harder.
- Briefly disarms the target, which can create good openings.
It has an especially long cooldown, and the damage isn’t amazing against basic enemies with light weapons. It’s a fun utility skill, though, and in co-op, it’s even more valuable since your allies can follow up during the lengthy animation.
