Assembly of Heroes is the second quest of Chapter Two of Where Winds Meet, and it is here that the tale of Kaifeng finally gets underway. Having caught a glimpse of the more hard-edged aspects of Kaifeng, the wanderer allies himself with Big Zhao as he infiltrates the elite Assembly of Heroes in order to get to the truth about what is really occurring.
Following is a step-by-step walkthrough that describes every step you need to follow to complete this quest.

Breaking into the Heroes Assembly
Firstly, you need to go to Velvet Shade in Kaifeng and talk to Big Zhao there. After some talk, you both will sneak onto the boat that is about to head for Heroes Assembly.
Once you get in, make your way to the hall, then dress in the attire that Zhao has arranged for you. This is crucial for you to move about without creating a stir.
Trouble in Revelry Hall
Put on your new clothes and follow Zhao into Revelry Hall to floor three, where the Ember of East is kept. A cutscene ensues, and then things get wild.
You would need to defend yourself against three successive waves of enemies, with each wave comprising three opponents. After overcoming the attack by mistresses, things progress in a more negative direction, with you being compelled to take the poison pill.

Investigating the Incident
Find Big Zhao next, then eavesdrop on his talk with Kaifeng Prefect. Finish that event, then talk with Zhao again before returning to the third floor to explore what happened there.
In the room where the Ember of East is sitting, investigate the destruction to the left of his throne. Return what you discovered to Zhao, then make your way to where the Ember of East is being held. Once that is accomplished, get out of Revelry Hall.
The Mask and Master Pu
Your next location is the theatre on the other side of town. There, you must show the mask you found to Master Pu. Following the final cutscene, the quest for the Gathering of Heroes will be finished.

What Comes Next
The next big quest is Reunion, which unlocks when the game clock hits Chen Hour. You can either let it pass on its own or quickly change it to continue playing without any interruption.
