In Dune Awakening, there is more to the Arrakis universe than survival and crafting alone. The game has a ton of contracts—free quests that let you dive further into the lore and develop your character further. Of these contracts, “The Next Target” needs you to locate a very important NPC: Elara Tuek.
Finding Elara is not always simple, especially if you do not yet have access to fast travel or an ornithopter. This walkthrough guides you through exactly how to reach her and continue the quest, with or without air travel.
Where to Find Elara Tuek?
To speak with Elara Tuek and take on “The Next Target” contract, you need to go to a location referred to as Harko Village. It is a middle hub area of the game that will be important for many contracts and story branches.
There are two ways to get to Harko Village:
- By Ornithopter (if available)
- By Fast Travel (for players who are further along in the game)
If you are not yet able to use an ornithopter, do not worry—we will focus on the quick travel route, which is available to all players who have reached a trading hub.
Step 1: Fast Travel to Harko Village
Accessing the Travel System
First, visit any of the game’s trading hubs. One of the very first and most reliable is The Anvil, but you can use any trading post that includes an Ornithopter Pilot NPC.
Speak to the pilot and select:
“I want you to take me somewhere.”
You will then be shown a map of where you can travel. Select Harko Village from the list.
Cost of Fast Travel
Keep in mind that it’s 2,500 Solaris to go to Harko Village—a significant amount in the early game. If you are low on cash, it’s best to complete a few of the more relaxed contracts to make some capital first before travelling.
Step 2: Visiting Harko Village
As you arrive at Harko Village, unzip your map. You’re looking for a bar named Hannivar’s. This will be signalled by a Barkeep icon, so you shouldn’t have any difficulty finding it.
Reaching Hannivar’s
- Walk straight from the landing bay until you locate New Court Way.
- There will be a building on your left-hand side with a holographic sign above the entrance.
- The entrance is within this building—this is the bar, Hannivar’s.
Step 3: Talk to Elara Tuek
- Walk to the right side of the bar interior.
- Move towards the back of the room, where there is a sofa seating area.
- Elara Tuek will be seated there, expecting your arrival.
- Just talk to her to activate the next segment of the contract.
What Happens Next?
Sparring with Elara Tuek will advance you through the “The Next Target” contract. She’ll send you to your next target—the Glutton—a target that is central to this contract and the broader questline called The Assassin’s Handbook.
This mission brings you closer to what most players have referred to as the current “endgame” content of Dune Awakening.
