Your first real introduction to the game’s disguise system comes with The Veil of Love quest. It may seem a bit clunky at first, but once you have learned how it works here, the same steps will carry you through every disguise-based mission later on.
This guide walks you through finding your target, using Wind Sense, getting the portrait you need, putting on the disguise, and grabbing the Jade Sachet before the timer runs out.

Starting the Veil of Love Disguise
Head over to the new quest marker and speak with the NPC located at it. After a very brief conversation, you’ll receive an objective asking you to use Wind Sense on the backpack they are carrying.
- Hold R3 for Wind Sense.
- Hover your cursor over the character and select it.
- You’ll see the Jade Sachet highlighted inside the bag.
- You can try asking for it, but they won’t hand it over yet. The quest updates and sends you back to the nearby disguise shop.
Heading back to the Disguise Shop
Head straight back into the shop next door, following the marker. The shopkeeper is behind the counter—speak with him to advance the situation.
They’ll explain that to build a good disguise, you need a portrait. They can’t help you without one, so your next stop is to track down the target again.

How to Get the Portrait
Step outside, follow the marker, and stand right in front of the target. When the prompt appears, interact to begin the portrait mini-game.
You’ll see an outline you need to match with the character’s face. Step to align the portrait until it is confirmed correct by the game, then save it. With the portrait, head back to the shopkeeper again.
Putting On the Disguise
Talk to the shopkeeper again. Since they now have the portrait, the disguise is ready.
- Confirm the on-screen prompt to equip it.
- Once you put it on, it starts a 15-minute timer.
You can take the disguise off manually if you want, but doing so before finishing the quest can break the objective and force you to redo parts of it—so it’s best to keep it on.

Getting the Jade Sachet with Your Disguise
Go back to the NPC with the Jade Sachet. Use Wind Sense once more, so the game registers both the target and the item. Now that you look the part, they’ll hand over the Jade Sachet without any problems.
Open your bag with Start, and check:
- Quest Items
- All Items (sometimes the Jade Sachet appears here instead)
Select the item and confirm to use it; this will unlock a new appearance, as well as complete the main objective of the quest.
Turning In the Quest
Head back to the disguise shop one final time. After a short conversation, the quest wraps up. You’ll get a few reflective lines about how people fall for appearances, followed by the shopkeeper praising your sharp eye and reminding you that their door is always open if you need another disguise. That concludes Veil of Love and sets you up for every disguise mission you’ll run into later.
