Kokomi is currently having her banner rerun in the second phase of Genshin Impact Version 3.0 and players are actually excited to pull for her. With the release of the Dendro element in Version 3.0, Kokomi has skyrocketed in fame and viability due to her amazing support and even sub-dps role in Bloom comps. Her newfound fame is much deserved and she’s finally considered a meta unit in the Genshin Impact character roster. In this article, we’ll take an updated look at her build where we’ll also consider her role in Bloom comps.
Kokomi’s Updated Build Guide in Genshin Impact 3.0
Kokomi is not only the best healer but also one of the best units for Bloom comps. While Bloom may not be a meta reaction yet and isn’t the best for damage, it’s still one of the best AoE reactions in the game.
Why is Kokomi so Good?
The only other AoE reaction in the game is Overloaded which is caused when Pyro meets Electro- thereby causing an explosion that usually sends smaller opponents flying away and staggers Elite enemies. Occasionally even your own character is affected by the explosion which can be annoying. Overall, while Overloaded does do tons of damage it causes an overall loss in dps because it sends opponents away from you which isn’t ideal when you want to quickly kill them.
Bloom isn’t like that and that’s one of its best features. Bloom buds have no ICD and their damage scales off of EM so you don’t have to build ATK% or CRIT for it to do tons of damage. When Hydro meets Dendro, the Bloom reaction occurs which creates buds that explode in due time or react with other elements to cause further reactions. These explosions don’t stagger or send enemies away flying so it’s convenient for you to continue your attack chain without moving around too much.
This is where Kokomi shines as her Hydro application has an AoE effect and is powerful but slow enough to not cleanse the Dendro aura on enemies. This means she can consistently trigger Bloom for consistent Burgeon, Hyperbloom or simply Bloom damage.
Updated Artifact Build
Her preferred stats and artifact sets largely remain the same except for a few new additions. As a healer and for her personal damage, the Ocean-Hued Clam Set remains her best-in-slot. You can also use the 4-piece of the Tenacity of the Millelith Set for the HP% bonus and the overall team support.
Her new artifact set that best suits her role in Dendro comps are of course going to be the Gilded Dreams Set which buffs her EM and boosts the damage of the Bloom buds she creates. Using this set also means you’ll be sacrificing a lot of your healing abilities as this build is EM-focused. The Deepwood Memories Set is only situationally decent as a reaction support Kokomi so we don’t ideally recommend this for her.
Updated Weapon Options
Her best weapons largely remain the same with a few new additions. We’ve ranked them according to their viability below:
- Everlasting Moonglow (5-star): This remains her signature best-in-slot weapon.
- Prototype Amber (Craftable): Performs similar to her signature weapon and it’s craftable. Overall her best F2P option.
- Hakushin Ring (Craftable): This craftable weapon gives her ER and its passive buffs electro reactions which can be very useful.
- Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (3-star): Her best 3-star F2P option for lower-levelled players. It’s even viable for the late game due to the huge damage buff to teammates. The HP main stat is also ideal.
- Sacrificial Fragments: An EM catalyst weapon for her role in Dendro comps.
Chances are you’ll already have her best-in-slot artifact sets and weapons built so there’s no need to go out of your way to farm for the Dendro options. The best thing about her is that she still functions in her intended role in Dendro comps while also being an amazing healer.
