In Titan Quest 2, quests are an important means of earning experience and story progression. As with main quests and most side quests, some quests — such as Missing Cows — take a little digging and observation. Though rewarded with no rare item drops, the quest is useful for world-building and gives players a significant XP bonus early in the game.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to find the missing cows and complete the quest effectively.

Starting the Quest: Issa Conversation

The Missing Cows quest initiates in the Enclave, where Issa says that some of the cows escaped from their enclosures and migrated south. She does not provide much guidance beyond this, so players will have to search around the vicinity to find the livestock.

Finding the Missing Cows

To locate the cows, start at the Enclave waypoint. Head along the southern route on the right-hand path. This path passes by a cluster of refugees and then breaks off into a secondary trail that leads down into the swamp.

As you trek along the swampy road, you’ll see two dead cows on the way — an omen you’re going in the right direction. Continue moving south along the thin road until you reach the three living cows gathered together. Talk to them, and they will start walking with you.

Now, take the cows back to Stolos in the Enclave. On the way back, a few small enemy battles will happen, but nothing very hazardous should get in your way.

Progressing the Quest: Speaking with Old Man Thon

After the cows are safely brought back, the second half of the quest is initiated. Stolos speaks about a worsening feud and commands you to seek out Old Man Thon, who is found to the southeast of the Enclave. There will be a general marker on your map, but for precise location, go to the middle of the area marked to find him.

After a short conversation, Thon will give information that results in the last steps of the quest.

  • Final Steps and Finishing the Quest
  • Following Thon’s advice, head back to the Enclave and do the following:
  • Talk to Issa once more to inform her of the developments.
  • Accept an invitation to meet with Stolos with the group.
  • Take the potion to Stolos in order to negotiate the conflict.

Once these steps are completed, the Missing Cows quest concludes. You’ll receive 3,962 XP, which can provide a significant early-game level boost. While the quest doesn’t reward any rare gear, it contributes to character progression and enriches the story surrounding the Enclave’s internal tensions.

While the Missing Cows quest might seem insignificant in the beginning, it demonstrates Titan Quest 2’s stronger emphasis on world-building and character-based storytelling. For players who want to maximize early XP and tap into the game’s lore, it’s well worth the time.
