In the Sengoku Dynasty, stone and copper tools can only take you so far. If you want to outfit your villagers with better gear and arm your soldiers with proper weapons, you’ll need to learn how to smelt bronze. Fortunately, the process is fairly straightforward, though it can be resource-heavy. Since making bronze takes a fair amount of time and effort early in the game, it’s smart to start producing it as soon as possible. That way, when you unlock blueprints for equipment that requires bronze, you’ll already have plenty of ingots ready and can start crafting right away. In this article, we will discuss how to make bronze in the Sengoku Dynasty.

Bronze

Bronze is used to craft the third tier of tools and weapons – stronger than copper but not as durable or powerful as iron or steel. These items last longer, deal more damage, and gather resources more efficiently than their stone and copper versions. Bronze tools are also necessary for collecting more advanced materials.

Build a Smelter

To make bronze, you’ll need to build a smelter inside one of your village’s buildings. If you have set up a Workshop with the standard layout, there’s a perfect spot for the smelter between the crafting bench and general storage. However, you can place your first smelter wherever you like, as long as it’s indoors. To build the smelter, you’ll need one log, any type will do, and ten units of clay. The log is easy to get – just chop down a tree or dig up a stump with a shovel. For the clay, craft a copper pickaxe and head to the nearest river to mine some.

After you’ve built the smelter, you’ll need three ingredients to start making bronze: one Copper Ore, one Tin Ore, and three pieces of Firewood. The smelter can process up to 20 bronze ingots at once, but it can only smelt one at a time. Each ingot takes several minutes to produce, so it’s a good idea to load the smelter with all the ingredients and then go off and do something else. When you return, you will be able to collect all the bronze ingots that have been made.

Once you have your first bronze ingot, you can craft a bronze yari at the Workshop. To unlock other blueprints, you’ll need to explore nearby regions. The Enjiro Region will grant you blueprints for bronze weapons and armour, while the Mountain Region is where you’ll find blueprints for bronze tools.
