The Cartel update stirred up Schedule 1, with the vicious Benzies family serving up fresh competition to your burgeoning drug empire. And with this new competition, one of the deadliest weapons in the game to date is the Pump Shotgun. Whether keeping enemies from your territory, chasing off customers or simply withstanding a police raid, this gun is a game-changer. Here is everything you need to know about acquiring it.

How to Unlock the Access to the Weapons Dealer

You’ll have to level up to rank Hoodlum V before you can buy the Pump Shotgun. After that, you’ll be able to locate the Warehouse in front of the Taco Ticklers restaurant. This Warehouse is where you can gain access to the black-market weapons throughout the game.

To access, proceed through the red door and knock. You will gain permanent access to the interior, although do keep in mind that the Warehouse can only be accessed between 6 PM and 6 AM game time. Make sure to plan your visits appropriately so you don’t get locked out when you need to get some new equipment.

Where to Buy the Pump Shotgun

Inside the Warehouse, you’ll meet Stan, the resident weapons dealer. He’s the man you’ll need to speak to in order to purchase the Pump Shotgun. The price tag is steep at $7,500, and ammunition comes at an additional cost of $3 per shotgun shell.

Everything must be paid for with Stan in cash. Fortunately, there is an ATM even within the Warehouse itself, located conveniently between Stan and Oscar on the ground floor. If you happen to have little to no cash upon arrival, you can get some cash without having to leave your spot.

Why the Pump Shotgun Is Worth It

The Pump Shotgun isn’t just a new weapon in your arsenal – it’s a beast. It’s a one-shot, instant kill at close range, and perfect for crowd control should things go bad during police skirtings or angry customers. Its stopping power also makes it one of the more useful weapons in the game when things get crazy.

All things considered, however, the shotgun isn’t a cure-all. While it’s great close-up, it’s not so great at distance. If you wish to kill enemies at range, the Revolver or M1911 pistol are still your best option. Players who enjoy versatility will always have a collection of various weapons under their belt in an attempt to be prepared for whatever comes their way.

Identified Issues with the Pump Shotgun

As much as the shotgun is awesome, it is not flawless. Some players are still experiencing a visual bug where screen space is obstructed when aiming or firing the weapon. There is no fix yet, but since the Cartel update has only just been released, it’s likely that the devs will scrub this problem out in a patch somewhere down the line.
