Path of Exile 2 features a robust in-game economy where players can trade various types of currency with each other. The Currency Exchange system allows players to easily trade common currencies for rarer, more powerful ones. This guide will explain how to unlock the Currency Exchange and how to effectively use it to maximize your in-game wealth.
Currency Exchange in Path of Exile 2
In POE2, you have different kinds of in-game money. Some are very common, like ‘Regal Orbs’ or ‘Orbs of Augmentation’, while others are much rarer but more powerful, like ‘Exalted Orbs’, ‘Orbs of Alchemy’, or ‘Divine Orbs’. If you have a bunch of a common type of money, you might want to trade it for a smaller amount of a rarer type. That’s where the ‘Currency Exchange’ comes in. It’s a place where players can trade their in-game money with each other.
How To Unlock Currency Exchange
You can start trading in-game money with other players once you reach a certain point in the game called “Cruel Act 1” in “Path of Exile 2.”
There are special vendors in each of the first three areas of this difficulty level where you can do this:
- Finn: You’ll find him in the “Clearfell Encampment” (the first area).
- Risu: You’ll find her in the “Ardura Caravan” (the second area), but only after you defeat a boss called “Rudja the Dread Engineer.”
- Alva: You’ll find her in the “Ziggurat Encampment” (the third area).
To start trading, simply talk to one of these vendors and choose the “Currency Exchange” option.
How To Use Currency Exchange
To see how much of a certain type of in-game money you can get for another type, you can use the “Currency Exchange.”
- Add the type of money you want to get to the “I Want” slot.
- Add the type of money you’re willing to trade to the “I Have” slot.
Then, hover your mouse over something called the “Market Ratio.” This will show you what other players are typically trading this money for.
When you’re looking to trade your in-game money, you’ll see a list of other players’ offers. These are called “Available Trades.” The “Ratio” tells you how much of the money you want to get for the money you’re offering. For example, a ratio might show you can get 1 of the rare type of money for every 10 of the common type. The “Stock” number shows how many players are currently offering this trade at that specific ratio. Finally, “Competing Trades” show you how much other players are willing to pay for the money you’re offering, giving you an idea of what a fair price might be.
