In Metaphor: ReFantazio, Bounties offer players a simple way to earn a lot of Reeve while also taking on unique and challenging bosses in the game. Although they’re completely optional, they’re a fantastic way to level up during your free time, as they often unlock new dungeons to explore. The initial bounties in the game are pretty straightforward, but Valmo marks a shift, as you’ll be facing two bosses at once. While their attack patterns and stats are the same, this battle feels more like a puzzle than just a fight. This guide will explain how to beat Valmo in Metaphor: ReFantazio.
Attacks of Valmo in Metaphor: ReFantazio
Valmo will frequently inflict Paralysis on your party, so it’s essential to have an Archetype that knows Patra or to stock up on Vitamin Relaxants. Having a Healer can also be beneficial since Rakunda will help when one of the Valmos lowers your party’s agility, which they might do multiple times, causing the effect to stack. Equip your main healer or as many party members as possible with gear or accessories that reduce the chances of paralysis. Make sure to enter this fight with full MP, as you’ll need to cast a lot of spells.
Make sure to use Skill Inheritance so that every party member learns an Ice Spell. It’s also a good idea to have at least one member take on the Mage role, while another should choose either Seeker or Magic Seeker.

Strategy to Beat Valmo in Metaphor: ReFantazio
The key to winning the fight is timing your attacks perfectly to take down both Valmos at the same time. How you wear them down doesn’t matter, as long as they both fall in the same turn. Because of this, it’s crucial to keep your entire party healthy and free from status effects so you have as many press turn icons as possible to make that final strike count.
Depending on the Archetypes available to you, your Mage can use the Synthesis attack Gablizz, which will hit both enemies at once. It’s also a good idea to buff your Mage’s damage a few times before that final turn, as dealing too much damage is far better than risking not enough and having a new enemy spawn. If a new one does appear, consider restarting the battle to restore your party’s HP and MP.
The two Valmos won’t deal much damage individually with their bite and fire breath. Keep an eye out for the sandstorm and immediately counter its effects, since every Press Turn icon is crucial in this fight. Focus on using ice attacks frequently to maximise your damage, but don’t finish them off just yet. It’s better to bring them down to low health and then wait for a new turn to take them out, ensuring you have enough Press Turn icons for that final strike.
