You will be able to start Magdalena’s Axe task after finishing the Adept side quest, which is part of the Legacy of the Forge DLC. Magdalena’s Axe Task
This quest will start automatically after you complete the DLC side quest “Adept” and talk to Magdalena. To start forging Magdalena’s Axe, you need to go to the newly restored forge. It will be ready for use once you complete the “Adept” quest. Interact with it, and you will see that Magdalena’s Axe is now available under the Axes tab.
Start by selecting her axe, and the forging process will begin. First, you need to heat up the base material. Blow air into the forge until the metal glows a bright yellow. Be careful not to overheat it as you just need the sword to have a strong yellow glow.
Once it’s ready, take the metal to the anvil. Use your hammer to strike all parts of the axe head evenly. Make sure you rotate the piece to work on both sides. Try not to miss your hits too many times; sloppy hammering can mess up the final result.
A good sign that you’re doing it right is when you see sparks flying with each strike. That means your hits are making proper contact. If the metal starts to look dull again, just reheat it in the forge and continue hammering until you finish shaping the axe. Take your time, aim your strikes well, and you will forge a good weapon for Magdalena.
