Being a mafioso isn’t all high-speed car chases and bloody shootouts. It’s sometimes about subtlety, patience, and detail. A narrow escape involving cracking open a safe is one such less dramatic but equally gratifying example.

Safes in the game will usually contain money, treasures, or valuable story items, and the one you’ll discover in Chapter 6—Brancati’s safe—is one of them. If you’d prefer to open it without spending time typing in random combinations, here’s everything you need to know.

Finding Brancati’s Safe in the Guardia Station

You can locate Brancati’s safe as you navigate through Chapter 6, not much after you’ve rescued Giuseppe. The safe is located on the ground floor of the guardia station, buried in the middle part of the building. Its metallic finish and lock dial protruding don’t make it instantly missed. Observational skill sets in here, as the code won’t just be given to you—you’ll need to sneak around the location to get the hints you’re looking for.

Finding the Clues That Reveal the Safe’s Code

The code to Brancati’s safe is hidden within documents scattered nearby. The first crucial clue is the Safe Repair Record, found on a desk right next to the safe itself. This paper contains maintenance notes that hint toward the combination. The second clue is the invoice from T. Wallace & Son, located in the adjoining room. This bill and the repair history give you everything you need to have in order to be aware of the correct order to open the safe.

The Exact Combination to Open the Safe

With both of the hints in hand, you can now stop gussing and input the code with confidence: 00-01-02. Inputting the code in this order through the dial will make the safe open, and you’ll be able to take what’s inside of it. Inside there are 300 Dinari-so a fairly modest but welcome cash injection that may be spent on resupplying or getting your pockets lined for future ops.
