Intel’s 12th Gen Processor for desktop x86 PCs has been rumored for months now, and we know quite a bit about the processor except for the release date. In Intel’s Architecture Day 2021, many architectural details of the hybrid x86 processor were shared, but there was no confirmation of the release date. In a Webcast, they announced that the ‘Intel Innovation’ event will be held on 27th and 28th October 2021. In his tweet, Intel Executive Vice President Gregory M Bryant said that the 12th Generation Chips are coming soon. But the exact release date is still not known.
It is expected that during this ‘Intel Innovation’ Event, Intel will announce the price, specifications, and release date. There is a possibility that we can’t get the CPUs immediately and have to wait until the next year. According to some sources, only the K and KF processors will be released in 2021, along with the Z690 chip for the motherboard. Therefore, we have to wait a little bit longer to get the Alder Lake CPUs.
Though officially Intel declared nothing about the specifications of the 12th Gen CPUs, we get some news from the sources. Here, we are listing down the specifications of CPUs.
Intel Core i7-12700k 12 Core/ 20 Thread Desktop CPU
- 12 Cores (8 Golden Cover core+4 Gracemont core)
- 20 Threads
- 25 MB of L3 Cache
- TDP Values are maintained at 125W and 228W
Intel Core i5-12600K 10 Core/ 16 Thread Desktop CPU
- 10 Cores ( 6 Golden Cove+ 4 Gracemont Cove)
- 16 Threads (12+4)
- 20MB L3 cache
- TDP Value maintained at 125W and 228W.
Intel Core i9-12600K 10 Core/ 16 Thread Desktop CPU
- 16 Cores (8 Golden Coves+ 8 Gracemont Coves)
- 24 Threads (16+8)
- 30 MB of L3 Cache
- TDP Values are maintained at 125W and 228W
The price is the last thing that a company reveals. So it is not shocking that there is no definite news of the cost of these CPUs. Intel is suggesting the Alder Lake CPUs be a breakthrough, so we can say it’ll be expensive. Until now, we don’t have any definite date for the CPUs to be released. But as the features show that they will be excellent once they come to the market. Therefore, we have no option but to wait for the formal announcement from Intel.
