When Hornet first enters Bellhart town in Hollow Knight: Silksong, she will trigger the Save the Threadspun Town quest. The town is filled with a silken curse that renders it quiet and dead until Hornet comes along. This is how to lift the curse, slay its guardian, and restore Bellhart to its previous action.
Beginning the Quest
The moment Hornet enters Bellhart, the mission is unlocked. In order to break the curse, she must venture into Shellwood, a vast, spiky biome teeming with threats. The key to progression here is to unlock the Cling Grip ability, which allows Hornet to climb her way up to the higher floors of Bellhart.
Prior to going too far, locate Shakra to purchase a Shellwood map. She can usually be found at the bottom of the zone, in front of the bench leading to Bone Bottom. With the map, finding your way will be much easier.
Unlocking the Path to Bellhart’s Upper Floors
Once you’ve obtained Cling Grip, head back toward Bellhart and use the wall jump to scale into its upper floors. The path forward is intentionally maze-like, echoing later quests that involve Silver Bell collection.
- After climbing up, drop into the lower passages.
- Move right, then descend once more.
- Here, turn left into a tunnel guarded by two Winged Furms—defeat them before proceeding.
- Don’t head to the end of the tunnel. Break through the cluster of bells on the left instead to reach the right path.
- This path eventually leads to a lower chamber, closer to the end of the curse.
Fighting Widow
Keep going down the newly opened area until you reach a room where Widow, the boss holding Bellhart back, is waiting. You touch her and the fight begins.
Defeating Widow not only breaks the Bellhart Curse, but also rewards Hornet with the Needolin skill, an essential upgrade that strengthens her arsenal.
Restoring Bellhart
With the curse lifted, Bellhart springs back to life. NPCs return, shops open, and the town gains its own Wishwall, granting access to additional quests such as My Missing Courier, where you’ll search for Tipp.
Restoring Bellhart is not just a milestone event in the story of Silksong—it also transforms the settlement into a thriving town full of opportunities, history, and practical resources for Hornet’s journey.
