In Crimson Desert, the Duskwood Hill Ruins puzzle might frustrate you if you don’t understand how it works. Here, we’ve shared the step-by-step instructions for how to reset the Duskwood Hill Ruins puzzle, how to clear the vines that are blocking your way, and how to line up all of the pillars correctly so that you complete the puzzle and move on from this difficult area quickly.
Resetting the Puzzle
When you encounter the Duskwood Hill Ruins puzzle in Crimson Desert, you may find it hard to solve the puzzle until you’ve figured out how to reset it. Unlike many other puzzles, this one does not allow you the option of walking away from it and having the game auto-reset itself. To reset the puzzle you must do one of two things.
First, you could use a teleportation point located near the Duskwood Hill Ruins; second, you can save your game (and exit from the game) then reload your saved game. You will know if the Duskwood Hill Ruins puzzle is ready for completion again when you see vines growing on and through the ruins.
Removing the Vines
In order to be able to complete the puzzle; you will have to remove the vines that are covering your path. You can do this in two different ways. One way is to equip your bow and arrow, aim towards the fire that is next to the vines, and shoot at it in order to destroy the vines and make your way through.
The other way to get rid of the vines is by using your sword. To use the sword, press both LB + RB (for Xbox) or L1 + R1 (for PS) together to activate the sword, then press LB or L1 again to shine light on the vines to destroy them.
Solving the Puzzle
Removing the vines from the stone structure starts the actual Duskwood puzzle. Equip “stab” and get near the slits on the circular stone structure you’ll find in the area. First, stab the slit that will light up all three pillars on the left side; then raise them to the halfway mark of the leftmost pillar.
Next, do the same with the three pillars to the right (middle and outer columns will be raised to the leftmost column). Finally, find the slit that lights up only the second and fifth pillars to the same height. The Duskwood puzzle will be complete once all the pillars have been aligned correctly and in the same length.
