Levelling up in Genshin Impact can be quite tricky for beginners since the game doesn’t outright give us any tips. As a player, climbing the adventure ranks requires ADVENTURE EXP which can be farmed in various ways. The higher your adventure rank the more quests are available to you and it also opens up new regions to explore and enjoy. Below are some of the ways a player can farm tons of Adventure EXP to level up quickly:
1. Adventure Handbook
The Adventure Handbook is a player’s guide to get ahead in the game. It sets some goals for a new player which upon completion grants rewards that the player will need. It is unlocked in the Welcome to the Adventurer’s Guild quest which comes after completing the Prologue quest and reaching AR7. The ideal way to reach these goals is to win in more ways than one where you can complete several of its requirements in one go.
2. Collectibles
The primary collectibles in the game are the Anemoculi and Geoculi which are floating and often hidden from direct sight. It’s advisable to start with the Anemoculi which are available in the starting region of Mondstat. Using them to level up the Anemo Statue of the Seven not only grants you a ton of EXP but also increases your stamina bar. More stamina means more exploration and that means more treasure chests to discover and open which also grants you a little bit of EXP.
3. Dungeons
Dungeons are different from domains because they can only be played once. There are several dungeons scattered across the map of Tevyat which become accessible to a player once they reach a certain adventure rank. The lower-level dungeons are easy, fun to play and grant a huge chunk of Adventure EXP upon completion.
4. Bosses
One can fight the weekly bosses like Dvalin, Andrius or Childe once per week to gain a ton of rewards including artifacts, weapons and Adventure EXP. These bosses can be unlocked after completing the main Archon Quests and certain other important side quests relating to certain characters. The overworld bosses also grant a lot of EXP and their rewards can be claimed by spending 40 Resin per run. These bosses also reset every 5 minutes after their defeat so you can repeat the same boss fight until your resin runs out. At lower adventure ranks, after reaching AR16, you can even ask help from veteran players to help you defeat these bosses in Co-op mode.
5. Ley Lines
These are small circular symbols on the map either in blue or yellow where you can go to fight a couple of overworld monsters and enemies. Defeating them will grant you a ton of Adventure EXP and either Mora (in-game currency) or EXP books for your game characters. The blue ones grant EXP books while the yellow ones give Mora. These rewards can be claimed using 20 resin per run. For beginner players, the yellow ones are advisable to farm as Mora is very useful to increase your AR rank. Each player gets only a set amount of resin per day and it’s replenished at a very slow rate. It’s advisable to save one’s Fragile Resin until higher AR ranks as they become extremely valuable then.
After AR Rank 19, the game also increases your world level by 1 every 5 AR ranks which increases the overall enemy levels and rewards in your account- thus making the game more challenging and enjoyable. Ideally, AR50 or World Level 6 is the sweet spot since it grants the highest rewards and beyond that, the game only gets harder without an increase in rewards. AR60 is the highest Adventure Rank one can reach after which your excess EXP converts to Mora in a 10:1 ratio.
