In the mystical realm of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there exists a legendary gateway known as the Gate of Faded Glories. It is steeped in old myths and filled with difficult obstacles to get into, holding great secrets from ancient times.  This guide will lead you step by step through everything from treacherous landscapes and fighting a mighty boss to combat tactics that you’re going to need in order to win.

The Gate Of Faded Glories

Once you reach the second island in The Crossroads, you can start this quest. However, you’ll need to finish Davrin’s first companion quest, “How to Train a Griffon,” to access the specific area in Arlathan Forest where the gate is located. After completing that quest, head to the northern part of the eastern section of the Arlathan map.

Keep following the path through the Tainted Woods until you find a ladder with a chain on it. Use a ranged weapon to break the chain and the blight to your left. Then, use Harding’s ability to remove the rocks blocking the entrance to the building. Inside, you’ll encounter several blight spots and a group of Darkspawn enemies. Defeat them quickly, but avoid attacking the large blight housing the champion. Opening it too soon will make the fight significantly harder.

Defeat Entarus

To defeat Entarus the Rekindled in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you should use companions with abilities other than Necrotic. Since the boss is weak to Fire, companions like Davrin and Taash can be very helpful. Additionally, changing Rook’s abilities to Fire, Physical, or Electricity damage can make the fight easier, as Entarus is resistant to Necrotic damage. Entarus often slams its mace down, so dodge away when you see it swinging back. Also, watch out for red glows on the ground around Entarus or red strips on the floor. These are warnings for unblockable, high-damage attacks. Dodge these to avoid taking damage. Entarus will also charge at you, so dodge to avoid its attacks. Pay attention to the blue lights above its head. These indicate spell attacks. Once all five lights fill up, it will fire a powerful spell. Once you defeat Entarus, you’ll get six Etheric Remnants, 50 Grey Wardens Strength, and your bond with your party will improve.

To open the Gate of Faded Glories in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, use Entarus the Rekindled’s Essence on the roots located northeast of Elvhenan’s Haven in Crossroads.
