When you are at the Abandoned Village, you will come across a large rotating crane that is holding a brazier. There are some branches holding it, and you will need to use fire to burn them. Once it is lit, you will be able to see the gold circles around the main body of the crane. Hit the one on your right, and it will stop.
You can now use your swords to pull the structure and the first rune will be lit up. You will be able to use the other crane to make your way to the southwestern area by jumping. Once you have reached this spot, you will have a different angle on the crane. Hit the circle on the right again.
More branches will be burnt and the path in front of you will clear away. You will need to pull the crane to the right in order for the second rune to light up. You can now hit the circle on the left to reset the position of the crane and get back to where you started.
For the last rune, you will need to hit the right side again and jump to the other side. Once you are on the western part of the bridge, you will find the chest below it. The third rune is in front of the chest and you just need to activate it. Once this is complete, the Nornir chest will unlock.
