Though the game has no jump-scare moments, the atmosphere and sudden hunt of ghosts can terrify players to a great extent. The game has more than 20 ghosts featured, and each has individual traits that will make them different from others so that players can identify the ghost easily. For example, some ghosts give freezing temperatures; some interact in Spirit Box; some hunt more frequently than others, etc.

Among these ghosts, Demons are one of the most dangerous ones. They hunt more frequently than others, and initially, they start hunting as soon as the sanity of the players reaches below 65%. Generally, in Phasmophobia, ghosts hunt when the sanity goes below 50%. However, Demon doesn’t follow the rule. They hunt from a higher sanity levels, and they hunt often. Additionally, Demon is the only Ghost who doesn’t drain sanity if you use Ouija Board to interact. Using Smudge Stick generally prevents hunting for 90 seconds, but it differs from ghost to ghost. For Demon, if you smudge it, it will not hunt for the next 1 minute. However, Demons fear Crucifix a lot. So if you can place Crucifix at a proper location, you can stop Hunts for some time to set up the necessary equipment.

That’s all you need to know about Demons in Phasmophobia. Also, Demon doesn’t come very fast while hunting, so players can run away and hide if they have a hiding spot nearby. Additionally, playing on an in-game mic requires extra caution because Demon can hear sounds. So turn off all your equipment and stay quiet while a Demon is hunting.
