At the time of writing, we have discovered three main ways to heal. So far, we have not encountered any spells or weapons that provide heal when dealing damage.
Auto Healing
As long as the Blood Pool has some blood in it you will continue to auto heal. However, if you use up all the blood in the Blood Pool, you will lose health rapidly, -10 HP few second approximately. To auto heal you do not have to do anything other than escape to a safe area and not take any damage. The auto healing is more rapid during the night than the day. You need to regularly feed blood from humans and creatures to keep the Blood Pool in a healthy state.
Blood Mend
Blood Mend is by far the best way to heal and can come handy even during boss fights when the boss is switching the stage of the fight and there is a brief relief such as the fight with Alpha Wolf. Blood Mend takes time to restore health, but restore max. HP. If you want to quick heal and return to a fight then you can cancel the healing via this method by hitting the left-mouse button. To use Blood Mend, you need to press and hold the Left Ctrl key and then select the option.
Consumables
The best way to heal during a fight is to use consumables. There are a lot of consumables in the game that you will unlock at the early stages and the really good ones at later stages. Rat is probably the first consumable you will come across. It restores a very small amount of blood. Then there are a few types of hearts such as Unsullied Heart and Tainted Heart, these do not restore health directly, just like the rat, but will increase the blood and then you can use the Blood Mend. Vermin Salve is an early item that you can craft and it’s one of the early objectives. You can press Tab to open the quick crafting menu and the item should be there. The Vermin Salve recovers 2.5% of max health every 1.5 seconds for 15 seconds.
There is also the Blood Rose Brew that can be found in loot in camps. The brew recovers 4% of max health 1 second for 10 seconds. There are plenty of other consumables in the game that can help restore HP.
That’s all we have in this guide we will update the post when we have more info on things that can restore health. Check out the V rising category for more guides and tips to play the game.
