In the ruthless world of PEAK, danger comes in all shapes and sizes—massive skeletal foes, deadly falls, and freezing blasts can end your run in an instant. But not all dangers are massive beasts or environmental hazards.

Sometimes acquiring a badge means intentionally putting yourself in harm’s way. The Needlepoint Badge is one such challenge, requiring you to throw yourself into a prickly situation—literally.

Where to Attempt the Needlepoint Badge

The Needlepoint Badge can only be obtained in the Mesa biome, a scorching desert landscape riddled with cacti of varying sizes. The big cacti are harmless background foliage, but the small ones that blanket the sandy terrain are what you’re after. These tiny, spiny flora will stick to you when you dash through them, embedding pointy needles into your scout.

If you’ve already spent time in the Mesa biome, you’ve probably brushed against them unintentionally. For this badge, however, you’ll need to actively seek them out.

Covering Yourself in Cactus Spines

Your goal is to get as many of these tiny cacti clinging to you as possible without the harm getting the best of you. When you come into contact with these plants, they’ll cling to your person, slowly depleting your stamina and health. Venture too far and you’ll collapse, having failed the attempt.

It’s important to move methodically—find clusters of small cacti, run through them, and then pause to recover. The badge isn’t about speed but about quantity, so there’s no need to risk getting knocked out before you’ve gathered enough.

Removing the Needles

Getting the cactus spines is half the battle. Once you’ve gotten covered, you’ll need to have each and every needle removed to complete the badge requirement. You can do it yourself by clicking on each spine, but it’s much quicker with friends who can pull them out for you.

This is a required step—if you still have any needles stuck in, the badge won’t unlock. It’s a survival scout ritual: grit through the hazard, then clean up and carry on.

With all of the cactus spines cleared out, the Needlepoint Badge will appear on your screen, and you will have passed this prickly challenge with flying colors. You will also have bragging rights for going out of your way to complete one of PEAK’s more painful achievements.
