Meteorite Hearts will be your first resource to gather when starting StarRupture and can be used as an upgrade for Base Cores and their expansion. To help you progress without having to grind much for the Meteorite Heart resources in StarRupture, it’s important that you spend time understanding not only where and when Meteorites spawn during the game but also how to collect them quickly and what types of rewards will be given to you once collected.
Why Meteorite Hearts Matter

Meteorite Hearts, while not particularly uncommon, have unique value. They are consumed in high quantities as part of Base Core upgrades; you’ll need approximately 30 Meteorite Hearts just to get your Base Core up to Level 2, making it necessary to continue farming Meteorite Hearts over and over again.
In addition, Meteorite Hearts have a secondary function. When placed in an Analyzing Station, they can be turned into 30 Data Points each, making them more than just upgrade and construction materials.
Where Meteorite Hearts Come From

Meteorite Hearts come from Meteorites and aren’t just a stand-alone object. They are randomly generated in the game and are not bound to specific locations or spawn points, so the player has to explore in order to search for them.
When looking for a Meteorite, look for smoke rising in the sky, as this typically indicates that a Meteorite is nearby.
Breaking Open a Meteorite
When you approach a Meteorite, you can destroy it in two different ways:
- Option 1 – Shoot at one spot on the rock at a time until it is gone completely. This will require more time before you can get your heart, but it provides more accurate control of the ores you receive when you finally do get your heart.
- Option 2 – Shoot all of the glowing spots on the surface. These spots drop specific types of ores & once all are gone, it breaks into pieces and gives you a Meteorite Heart.
There are pros and cons to both options but ultimately you will still receive a Meteorite Heart either way. So the decision between these methods comes to whether you want to collect quickly or to collect exactly what you want.
Materials Found Inside Meteorites
In addition to the Meteorite Heart, Meteorites may contain:
- Calcium Ore
- Titanium Ore
- Wolfram Ore
When the Meteorite finally collapses, the Meteorite Heart is placed in your inventory. It’s easy to overlook among other materials, so make sure you store it properly.
