Helium-3 is an important resource in StarRupture once you progress in the game. You can notice it early on; knowing how to find it, extract it properly, and use it efficiently can save you a lot of time. In this guide, we’ll tell you where to find Helium-3, how to collect it in large quantities, and why it becomes so valuable as you progress.

How to get Helium-3

You can find Helium-3 once you know what it looks like. You need to look for purple gas rising from the ground. Small Helium-3 rocks can be found along paths, in open areas, and sometimes inside meteorites. They give off a constant stream of purple smoke, so you can easily see them from far away.

You’ll also find larger Helium-3 geysers in the far north and far east of the Orbital Lander. These are big, flat nodes on the ground that constantly release thick purple gas, often colouring the whole area in a violet glow. If you see a spot covered in purple cloud, chances are you’ve found Helium-3.

How to Extract Helium-3

At first, you won’t be able to collect Helium-3 in large amounts. For that, you’ll need to unlock a special extractor machine.

To do this, you must level up the Selenian Corporation to level 6. The Helium Extractor is unlocked much later in the game and is the only way to properly harvest Helium-3 from geysers. Once unlocked, simply place the extractor directly on a Helium-3 geyser. It will start farming the resource automatically, and you can then move it wherever you need using Rails.

How to Use Helium-3

You won’t need Helium-3 all the time at the start of the game, but it becomes important as you progress in the game. Later on, it’s required for advanced crafting when you need higher-tier materials. It’s also important for ceramics production, which you’ll need for stronger structural parts. Helium-3 is also used in glass manufacturing, helping you upgrade your base.
