Resource collection in Grounded 2 is crucial for advancement, especially within the first few hours where tool upgrade and crafting open up new parts of the world. Two early resources that players will need are Grass Seeds and Blueberries, both of which are required for important upgrades like the Omni-Shovel and Omni-Tool Axe.

While they are not one of the rarest items, they may be frustrating to find without assistance. This guide contains tips on where Grass Seeds and Blueberries are found in Grounded 2, and how to safely harvest them.

Where to Find Grass Seeds

Grass Seeds are only required for your initial Omni-Shovel upgrade, and while they appear to be readily available—considering that grass is so widespread—the reality is that only particular flowers, or Grass Flowers, release seeds upon being cut down.

To find them, search upwards instead of looking at the ground. Grass Flowers are taller and have seed clusters on top. When you approach a healthy plant, it will be labeled “Grass Flower.” Chop it down with your axe. If you chop it, there is a possibility that it may drop with Grass Seeds that you can collect from the ground. Remember that not all Grass Flowers yield seeds, so you may need to chop a few of them before you get enough.

Where to Find Blueberries

Blueberries are necessary for crafting Blueberry Leather, an important material for upgrading your gear, including the Omni-Tool’s axe function. There are two main areas where blueberries can be reliably found: the Picnic Table and the Blueberry Hedge along the Southeastern Edge of the map.

Climbing the Picnic Table

Although a bit challenging to reach early on, the Picnic Table provides a safe, contained cluster of blueberries. Here’s how to get there:

  • Climb the picnic blanket using your buggy.
  • Avoid the O.R.C. Weevils on the way—they explode on contact and can quickly reduce your health.
  • Upon reaching the bench, go under the cloth and walk across the metal bar to the other side.
  • After passing a small group of Roaches (which are worth defeating for their Roach Chunks), continue into the cooler.
  • Follow the upward path through the cooler and exit via a popsicle stick.
  • This will take you to the table top, and there you’ll see a blueberry-filled cave of cloth.
  • This zone is comparatively safe than others, and picking here can also assist you in gathering pieces required for tool upgrades.

Southeastern Blueberry Hedge

For more quantities of blueberries, head south of the Ice Cream Cart Ranger Station and northeast of Pebble Village Lunchbox.

When you first arrive in the territory, some unnamed hacker will threaten to make you back away from their berries and robot bug troops. Naturally, you have to ignore the threat—but proceed with caution. The territory is guarded by O.R.C. robot bugs and a defensive bumblebee. Most of the enemies are manageable, but the bumblebee will kill you if provoked.

Stay along the sides of the blueberry hedge and avoid penetrating deeper to reduce your exposure. Take berries down from limbs using a bow and arrow. After they fall, flip over to the axe function of the Omni-Tool to chop them into pieces. Each berry produces multiple pieces, but beware—berries do roll, and if they go into the wrong area, they could wake up a nearby enemy.
